QUOTE(arthurlwf @ Sep 6 2010, 01:01 AM) Maybe after holiday, the telco staff have to start working hard.. Maxis staff have to find ways to prevent existing customer switch to digi Digi staff have to cope with the overwhelming orders...lol Maybe their price won't change but they will revise their data caps to give more it more value. I agree the pre-order won't start soon. I remember last year the pre-order started the very last days of September and in the hands of early adopters by end of October. When I put in my order for 3GS in October, only the end of November I received it. I was the in second wave. Hehehe...

QUOTE(jphlau @ Sep 14 2010, 10:46 AM) I think the 3g speed has detoriate compared to 6 months ago. Digi keep on pushing for new customers and overload their system. Eg. Perviously i can get speed exceeding 1mb/s. Now only achieving pathetic 100-200 kb/s Same here. I have been complaining about this issue since last year. During the day, its quite ok. During the night, don't even start with that 700kbps average download speed hehehe... its not even close to 200kbps. I noticed if I use download manager and attempt split download (multiple connections), things go up. This has everything to do with how they are managing download speeds to subscribers.

QUOTE(w143 @ Sep 14 2010, 01:03 PM) Haha... I just googled to find out what "JFGI" means BTW, I already have an iPhone 3GS with Maxis, I plan to switch to Digi for their cheaper monthly plan and the unlimited data plan. Do I get to pick the iDigi 88 (RM60) plan with existing iPhone I have? Or I have buy of them their iPhone to get the iDigi plan? I saw their website a page for existing iPhone user, which is RM58 for unlimited data. That will be expensive for RM58 + one of their regular postpaid plan, cheapest plan is RM30 = RM88 per month minimum. http://www.digi.com.my/iphone/getone_have_iphone.htmlThanks! Or their DG SmartPlan 68. Its basically RM68 for unlimited data (limited to 3GB though ) plus pay as you use voice plan (0.15 per minute with the usual sms/mms rates). You exceed RM100 total bill, you get some discount (25% if not mistaken) on the RM68. If you exceed RM200 total bill, the entire RM68 is exempted. Works for any phone including BB.

QUOTE(stinky @ Sep 25 2010, 11:42 PM) I tried death grip today at my home in Setapak. Yes the death grip is there and the signal dropped. I then try again at Chillis Mid Valley. Full bar and even i hold as tight using the death grip, it didin't drop. BTW, the karnival at Maxis the Gardens got more casing choices. I bought mine there. Luckily I did not buy anything at The Quill Digi Karnival. Too limited choice Actually in strong coverage areas, the problem is still there. Remember Apple did a software update to reduce the number of reception bars and how the bars react depending on signal intensity? Apple made the bars going strong even though signal intensity has actually dropped. If you run the Apple Field Test hidden menu, you will see RSSI values. On average, with death grip... it will drop around 20dB which is actually very low (around -108dB, strong RSSI is around -80dB to -60dB). So the problem is still there. Just hidden from the consumer since Apple change the way the reception bars represent RSSI values. This has been widely covered by Anandtech and Engadget.
