QUOTE(kikco @ Aug 3 2010, 11:33 PM) got an uk unit, how did u cut you sim, i tried...but ended up spoiling the whole sim i bought a microsim adapter for rm15. it comes with a sticker that you can stick to your current sim and on the sticker, it has the dotted lines to guide you exactly where to cut. Just follow it and you're fine. |

Guys, any of you facing issue getting 3G signal from DIGI on Iphone 4?
I realized recently that I have not seen the 3G signal sign on my Iphone 4 before despite me being in the heart of Damansara where there's suppose to have 3G coverage doing surfing etc. I googled out for similar scenario and then found out that we may have to set the APN to use 3G for digi. I created a profile that sets the APN to diginet and loaded into my phone and rebooted my phone but nothing changes. tried several times too. Then I thought it could be my SIM card could be the culprit, thinking that we need a 3G sim card or something. My SIM card was changed about 3 years ago, so not sure if it will work with 3G service. But then I stumbled upon this Support FAQ page in DIGI website (http://www.digi.com.my/internet/3g/support_faqs.html). From the answers given, it seems that it's not dependent on SIM card and the APN setting would be defaulted to diginet if I dont set anything. so in short it should be automatic and working. Any of you has idea on why mine doesn't work? Really sad coz already subscribed for the Unlimited 58 plan but can't use 3G Please help DIGI SUPPORT FAQ Q3. Do I need a new SIM card or USIM in order to access 3G services? a. No, there’s no action required from your end to start enjoying 3G services. You will need a 3G handset though. Q6. I do not have the right settings on my phone, would I be able to access the Internet? a. Yes, you will be able to access the Internet even though you do not have the correct settings on your phone. DiGi has an advanced feature that allow our subscribers to connect to the Internet although they do not have the correct settings. This is to remove the barrier from accessing the Internet as well as to improve our customer experience. If you are detected to not have any of our valid APNs namely diginet, digiwap, digistrm OR digimms, you will be defaulted to the diginet APN. Hence you will be allowed to access the Internet automatically. b. If you do not wish to have the Internet or data services at all for your mobile number, you may call in to our Customer Service hotline to request for deactivation. Alternatively, you can replace your browsing APN to digimms. You may refer to Q5 in Known Issues FAQs below. |

QUOTE(bryanyeo @ Aug 5 2010, 06:15 PM) same here. been cracking my head to find out why and tried out many ways taught online, such as wiping your sim card, rebooting the phone twice, resetting the network settings.all has no effect. will try to restore my iphone to see if it helps. if still the same, then probably upgrade to 4.0.1 n try. anyhow, will pay a visit to DIGI centre tomorrow and ask too |

Just tested my self cut Digi microsim on my gf iPhone 4 that I just opened from sealed box. Same case, no 3G signal. Only edge despite 3G setting already switch on.
I have a feeling it's my Sim although Digi support FAQ website says there's no need to change sim |

went to Digi Centre today. Waited 30 mins before was served.
The CS was checking my phone's settings. then he asked when i subscribe to the data plan. i told him last friday and sunday was activated and can use. He then ask if i can surf the net. i said yes, but very very slow and never got beyond 70kbps. after that, he brought to a more senior colleague. after a while, he came back, told me Digi now doesn't support the iphone 4 yet. I told him that's ridiculous because the 3GS also can use the same OS of iOS4.0 and shouldn't be any different in terms of the settings. I then tell him to bring one of their iphone 3GS to test with my Sim card. After that he said ok, no need to take out sim card yet and he'll try re-register me in the system for the plan as was also proposed by his senior just now. after seconds later, the phone was displaying the 3G icon already. Issue solved, tested with speedtest app and was getting 1Mbps already. Finally i asked him, "so it's not the phone problem right?" He said, yes it's not because of the phone, it's their system. So guys here who can't get DIGI 3G on their iphone 4, i suggest you go and ask them to re-register your number for the plan. Darn system give ppl trouble and waste time only. |

QUOTE(prazole @ Aug 26 2010, 05:22 PM) im pretty sure i didnt cut it wrongly digi and ip4 user here. my sim card was from 3 years ago without 3G broadband all this while. self cut and fitted in iphone4 and can use without issue. then i just subscribe to the rm58/month broadband and can use 3G now on iphone 4i even patch it up & reuse with my other phone and the sim still works so its not the cutting issue.. maybe coz its not the 3G sim ? to existing iphone4 + Digi owner which type of simcard are you using? prepaid/normal sim without 3G broadband/Sim with 3G broadband? |
