phone price is not cheap, but plans are cheap, compared to maxis...
long term, you'll save more...
*
It depends. Maxis offers 12 months contract, i'm sure there will be CHEAPER plan 9 months from now, especially right before the launch of the next iphone, and Celcom is going to offer iPhone soon, with 3 telcos competing for iphone subscibers, there will be competitive plans in the coming months. To tie you for 2-3 years is crazy, even they offer unlimited internet.

USA iPhone has always been sold with 2 year contract. don't want contract, pay full price. crazy? this is smartphones. get used to it. its only 2 years, by that time... will be time to buy another iPhone smile.gif
if you really don't want a 2year contract, buy outright when its available later. right now, its for contract purchase only smile.gif
@echoesian
thanks for the maths. there's another factor. Maxis will charge your for overage on data usage. Digi will not. so there's a safety net.
*
Don't be offended. I'm just stating my personal 2 cents. I don't mind the contract, but if i have an option of 12 months contract at this point of time, it will be better as i'll be open for better plans in 12 months time. By looking at the savings from the subsidised phone price from Maxis that would be cheaper (assuming i don't exceed my data usage).

Hey,

Actually, you just need to pay for the phone, which is RM2,490 in your case. Then you'll start paying monthly bill exactly a month from now. Just prepare the cash for the phone will do.

I just came back from SgWang. This seller at the Digi store told me they don't have 32gb in stock, only 16gb. They said Digi didn't ship in that, i was like wtf.  I guess that fella was just bs & want me to help them clear the 16gb stock instead.
*
He's not completely lying. Digi is facing a shortage of iphone 4 32gb, many stores did not receives them at all. Just call the centres before heading there if you want a 32gb set.

Did you guys actually check for so much stuff on the spot?

I only did a brief check on the camera, cross check the IMEI and part no., volume button, home button, the 3G and the silent switch.

Go to some other centre, lots of them doesn't even have a queue. I have all the time for me to ask questions about the plan and such.

nop,i means iphone manufacture date...and which center / shop not that much ppl ?
*
Mine is the week 35th set. I would advise you to avoid popular centres like SS2, KLCC, Berjaya Times Square. Soho KL apparently has a lot of stocks so thats one good venue, stores nearing Kepong are still having stocks and i did not see any queue this morning.

When i registered a new line for the iphone 4 yesterday at the digi store, the person activate my line for me within 15 minutes, but the system is online-based, so since today many more people activating their new line at the launch, the system might be WAAAAY slower.

Anyway, i have no problem accessing the 3G network, i'm in Kepong area. But then i turned it off and using my home wifi instead. biggrin.gif

Besides some cheap 3rd party cases and screen protectors, there were some iFrogz and Altec Lansing stuff. Highlight for me is the Altec Lansing Blackbeat 906 going for RM100 less.

Oh. Thats interesting. Is there any genuine Speck products?
