hrmm... this saturday, 31th July me and verdict is going to play DICE. i'll be playing Intel platform while verdict will be playing AMD platform. As we though that 2 person playing DICE will be kinda boring, we would like to invite one interested forum user to join us. those who are interested kindly PM me asap so that arrangement can be done asap. you do not need to bring anything, pot, cpu, mobo, etc is all provided. but will appreciate if you would bring an AMD proc so that there's more option. do PM me.

ah_khoo: for vantage cpu test, this is what i got, any advice?

CPU: 1090T @ 4.0GHz 1.4v
Ram: Corsair XMS3 1600MHz 7-7-7-20 1.65v 3 x 2G Version @ 1848MHz 8-8-8-18 1.571v
NB: 3000MHz 1.25v
HT Link: 2772MHz

iirc, i could get 19xxMHz 7-8-7 under intel rig but with this board. MSI 870A Fuzion Power. tested with 1.55vdimm to 1.68vdimm, no use. lol

QUOTE(ah_khoo @ Sep 16 2010, 09:53 PM)
waa bro, i'm not in a position to give advice, suggestion mebe can lah...  sweat.gif

nb volt seems a bit low for a 3kmhz, not so sure bout ht link help in boostin performance, most of d time i'll just keep it 2500MHz or below.

can ya ram can do 7-7-7 all d way to 1700 (or slightly higher)? from d stock settin they looked like bbse sticks (correct me if i'm wrong). from what tested, bbse sticks max out around 1840 @ 7-8-7 w/ near to 1.7v (or slightly higher, depend on quality of d sticks > geil ultra 2133 w/ 1.68, team xtreem 2000 w/ 1.725v @ 1824). i have yet to try 7-9-7 on bbse so if ur lookin for anything beyond 1840 i can't really comment now.  unsure.gif

for ya case i think it could be d limitation on amd's imc. ofcoz my examples are diff coz i was only on a poor propus while ur on thuban which comes with superior imc, but i think ram fare further under thuban imc but timing wise (@ same freq) amd can't do as gud as intel.  sad.gif

sadly i have no thuban w/ me now, else i can assist in testin bbse sticks which sittin on my fren's table, i'm helpin him to push d cheapo eco 1333 sticks. up until now i still have no idea what chippies used in these sticks, could be bbse (coz eco 1600 are on bbse accordin to i4memory forum) but i suspect these sticks mite be usin low quality psc chips. d volt used on these sticks @ same freq is much lower if compared to geil ultra 2133 & team xtreem 2k.  rclxub.gif

u have any psc sticks w/ u there? imo it's easier to hit high clock w/ 'em instead of bbse chips. bbse shine in 1600 ~ 17xx @ tighter timing (7-7-7).  nod.gif

paiseh, i'm not helpin at all by off topic-ing...  laugh.gif

i tested the NB volt one by one through the test, and this kinda the sweat spot. but i'll try more trials from your suggestion. as for HT Link, yes it does boost vantage score, around 300-500 points from 2k to 2.7k iirc.

in intel rig CL7 no problem. but i guess this is mobo problem. wkkwkk.... 1600 CL7 also cannot. already feedback to MSI, hope they come out with a fix. i haven't really tested out this pair of ram as i was on clarkdale before this. clarkdale very difficult to reach 2000MHz mark. 1.68v for 1940 7-8-7 iirc.

nope, i only have this Corsair at the mean time. poor man is like that. anyway i'll try the NB Vol thinggy. just tested vantage cpu test vcore 1.37 4.0GHz passed. but during full vantage run, graphic test not stable (VGA default). it's normal actually, i tried many times that CPU Test passed may not pass the graphic test. wkkwkkwkkw... maybe it's only me.

ok, here is my thought. although i'm relatively new in AMD. for MSI boards i tested so far for AMD, i'm not really happy with the memory clocking ability. perhaps the 800 series is not as good as MSI 790FX and i believe we (MSI Malaysia and me) all do agree with that. so far i haven't tested and ASUS/Gigabyte AMD mobos, too bad... no time. But for a side note, after testing loads of i5 based boards, Gigabyte H55M-USB3 stands out among all. hehe...

Master Khoo: if only you are here in Malaysia, i'll personally send the 1090T and MSI 870A Fuzion Power to your doorstep for testing!!
