Seems there's 2 board in the list hmm.gif

Yup take the EVO one, the other one is the normal i think, or maybe it's the M-ATX version, this mobo got ATX & M-ATX IIANM hmm.gif

eh bro ah_khoo, wats is d drawback of goin for 4+1 pwm board? gaygay 890gpa is 4+1...care to explain? thxs blush.gif
*
The drawback is that u have to be careful when oc'ing high TDP chippies (eg: 140W) like X4 965 coz when oc they put a lot of stress on the pwm's.. hmm.gif
With a good 8+2 pwm's u may have better breathing room b4 stressing the pwm's, thats why on mobo like 770-C45 extra precaution is needed in oc to make sure that u won't fry ur lowly 4+1 pwm's hmm.gif

With AMD cpu, 8+2 phase pwm is quite a lot already but on Intel i7's just look at the numbers of phase pwm's they have 12, 16, and i dare think 8 phase is maybe the minimum sweat.gif hmm.gif

nothing wrong but it's better to have more to be on d safe side (bein kiasu) provided d implementation is gud. some say a real phase consist of group of mosfets & capasitors as well as a driver ic. theoretically more phase leads to more stable volts, hence cleaner voltage. it's useful when u torture ya components (especially chip) with handsome amount of volt...  :/lol:

off topic:

for those who're keen to grab a pair of GSKILL FLARE/Patriot AMD Black Edition (binned for AMD)... :/hehe:

ooo...then its safe for me to go for d gaygay adi since i won't torture my chip as crazy like u  :/lol: .Just a mild oc will do for me (dun have d ability to go crazy oc :/( )..

Hahahaha what to do ah_khoo is like that, always like to push oc gila-gila, old timers whistling.gif whistling.gif laugh.gif tongue.gif

Sigh, another of our gang bite the dust sad.gif
But cannot deny it tho, for people liking to play with high frequency ram + tight timings intel chippies does have the legs for it.. sweat.gif
Here's hoping that bulldozer core will bring highly improved IMC with it smile.gif

I wanted to ask a long time now but kept forgetting ah, usually for DDR3 what value do we put best for the refresh cycle time when ocing the rams? 110ns? 160ns? hmm.gif

thread implementation of bulldozer is different from intel hyper threading.
but not sure how is it works. unsure.gif

IMO it's not really that hard to understand..

IIANM amd just simplified things a bit, instead of a single cpu core with only a core, amd uses a module term which have 2 cores, let say for a 8 core cpu it will have 4 modules with 2 cores per module inside..
16 core cpu will have 8 modules and so on and so on.. hmm.gif

The reason they say that their spin off for hyperthreading is better bcoz if it works, for every execution/process an intel cpu with HT able to do in a tick, bulldozer can do 2 execution/process at the same tick smile.gif

Some bad news :

"The bad news is that it(Bulldozer) won’t be compatible with existing AM3 boards. Instead, AMD says it will introduce a new AM3+ socket. These sockets will be backward compatible with older chips so you could drop a Phenom II X6 in it. According to AMD, Bulldozer will be built on a new 32nm process at Global Foundries."
*
QUOTE(dafreak @ Aug 25 2010, 12:19 AM)
should be expected as new architecture surely accompanied by new socket hmm.gif

but at least still backward compatible with old chips nod.gif

is that means 1 module is 1 "real core"?
and inside the 1 "real core" have 2 "sub core"?
so 1 "real core" can run 2 threads?
so this is how the amd multi threading looks like? rclxub.gif
*
To paint a clearer picture this is how bulldozer chip would look like, they won't really count 1 module as 1 core but instead as 2 cores smile.gif

It's an ingenious way to shrink the every core size by having each pair of cores sharing some component together..
Traditional core is just like on the right:

Yeah me hoping too..

And at such time no one busy talked about their IMC improvement eh? :/w
*
Ya lor, that's one part people forget to mention, reading a few source saying that the IMC may get a few boost in terms of:
Bulldozer
1. Native support of 18xxMhz DDR3
2. Quad channel memory drool.gif

Bobcat
1. Native support of 18xxMhz DDR3
2. Only dual channel tongue.gif

hei guys, 1055T have a temp sensor problem right?, i've tried to oc to 4.3ghz, it booted well but the it drops to 7.5x multiplier when i ran up prime after the temps sensor on the motherboard shoots up to 72'C.

so should i get WC in order to get 4ghz stable?
Note: I have done with lower bus speed and higher multiplier, same problem exist, high temp and auto reduce multiplier.
Note2: and based on the limitation of my ram, highest i can achieve is 333mhz bus speed.  cry.gif
(the picture below is the only stable speed i can get with 1.3250v [voltage based on motherboard settings] anything above that voltage/multiplier will have serious temp issues)
*
What cooler do u use for oc bro? I have no prob going above that just using air cooling.. Temp never reached 70c hmm.gif
Don't tell me ur using stock HSF laugh.gif

how long that AM3+ can survive pulak..
i thought just recently only the good AM3 mobo flooded to our market..
now need to be replaced..
*
All cpu manufacturers are looking to change their socket for 2011, intel & amd the same..
Still to me its ok lah that if amd is changing their socket, bulldozer is practically a brand new architecture, so we can't expect them to still stick using a socket that is derived from a socket launch in 2006 (AM2+)..
Still these new cpu's are expected to be launched in 2011, 1Q or 2Q is still not clear, whenever that is, by that time socket AM3 would already been 2 years already smile.gif

agreededed..kekek

and am3 chip is physically fit into am2 mobo.. just i dont think mobo manufacturer want to make it support am3 chip..
but to have am3+ socket that able to work with older proc is just fine.. not totally have to overhaul the PC..at least able to salvage the main brain, and change bulldozer later after. for those that low in budget la..if like cloudwan, throw away thuban straight away angkut bulldozer..

btw
[attachmentid=1746983]
btw..im happy this able to boot..

Why must my name came up sweat.gif sweat.gif Even the s3x cor3s i haven't isn't fully utilize yet lagi mau jump to bulldozer, beside i'm old already, have to pass the torch new blood like u kunta whistling.gif tongue.gif
We'll see soon enough nxt year whenever will that be, i'm more than happy if they even launch a thuban 32nm version as a stopgap so that older AM3 users aren't left out laugh.gif
