Look for post #66 Do at your own risk Added on July 29, 2010, 10:42 pmSome word of warnings... As of now there is no nandroid backup option yet, only the starhub sbf flash file is available. So be careful when doing modifications to the phone. What do you get when you gain root access? - system app removal, like starhub tv for example - replace stock keyboard with the droid x multi touch keyboard - overclocking, only attainable using milestone overclock 1.2 - remove the camera click sound This post has been edited by sanosizo: Jul 29 2010, 10:42 PM |

QUOTE(kevin613 @ Jul 30 2010, 09:24 AM) feeling itchy... but wanna wait till there is a safe method to unroot it first... i dont wanna lose the warranty you can use setcpu app. can set custom speed based on profiles, such as on charging, on low battery (can set how low), on temp sensor (can set the threshold) and more.also hope someone would come up with an app that would throttle the clock when needed.. to unroot it's just a matter of removing all the superuser app that we put in for root. or just flash the stock starhub sbf file Added on July 30, 2010, 10:20 amI've tried pro zoom camera and camera 360, both have the option to silent the camera but they didn't work. Not sure about camera fx, haven't tried it yet. This post has been edited by sanosizo: Jul 30 2010, 10:20 AM |

just now i tested hd recording with speed at 800 and 1000. unfortunately, video recorded still not smooth, still stutters a lot, all the time. my guess that's the limitation of 256mb of ram. what a letdown. having a hd recording capable device but cannot take a decent video out of it.
can i get my money back? |

Keep in mind that phones coming from overseas will be stuck at the custom office. Then need $ to pay for the tax and sirim charges.

Rm250 for the sirim logo, normal tax 30% from total value include shipping costs then hope the custom officer in good mood. Oh, there is ap charges as well.
My suggestion, take a bus ride or fly straight there. Or buy the phone from me |

no doubt 1ghz is fast but it will be very hot, not good for the device itself.
since we can change it on the fly, i normally set it to 600MHz with 46vsel (for everyday use). if i'm browsing or youtube at home with phone on the dock, i bump it over to 800MHz, much better browsing experience... currently messing around with the hd recording settings. |

i think i have misled you guys at some point.
rm250 for sirim logo - i shortened the whole thing. it is true that we need to pay rm250 for sirim logo, but the logo means it has passed the test by sirim. we need to send the phone to sirim if i'm not mistaken and they will do something about it. i'm not sure how do they test it since you only bring 1 phone but thats another topic to discuss. |

if u want to fry an egg, use hsdpa connection for 10 minutes with 1ghz speed. |

default camera app set the image quality to normal thats why we get smaller image size. if i use 3rd party app and bump all the resolution & image quality to max, i will get 4mb file size.
there is this touch to focus feature in default camera app. do you guys manage to get this to work? i mean if we have 3 objects and we want to focus on the left most object, will the other 2 be a bit blurry? |

i bought this phone because i dont want to bring 2 separate devices (phone, camera) when i travel. it's a convenience to have a shooter in your pocket.
i was searching for zn5 previously until i came across this model. |
