If you're not going to record videos why would you want to get a capture card??? You want to use your CRT to play your xbox is that right? If that's it then you'll only need a VGA cable for the xbox. If you're talking about sharing the monitor with the pc without having to unplug your xbox then you'll need to get a VGA switch which is something similar to those AV hubs for TVs. Hope I got what you're asking.

Most CRT monitor doesn't have VGA port rite? Got direct VGA cable kot? If like that so he stuck to capture card. In my PS2 days i use cheap capture card with DScaler software. That capture card got S-Video input so i bought S-Video cable for my PS2. I dont think Xbox360 got S-Video cable. FYI S-Video quality is better than Composite cable. But sure u can use Composite cable with capture card. But to think of it, better find monitor that can plug in VGA cable at least. Cheap LCD monitor will do and most of LCD monitor got DVI input too. Baru syok.

Or if you really want cheap , just buy a 19" LCD widescreen and output it at 720p . Much better than wasting money on TV box and getting it to work on CRT . Believe me , the 480p doesn't looks good at all on normal TV let alone thru a capture card . Totally not worth it . Besides , capture card and TV box got input delay .

Most of the LCD monitor have 2 or more input port. It have VGA, DVI and some even have HDMI. So u can connect ur Xbox360 to one of the port and the PC to another port. No need to plug and unplug. What with the CRT anyways? U say u can buy bigger LCD monitor right?

You said that you're getting an LCD later then why not only connect it after you've gotten your LCD? Problem solved!

TS, I think what you mean is you wanna plug your xbox360 to a video capture card as a conduit to your PC monitor as you're lazy to unplug the monitor cable.
But I'm gonna tell you that this kinda connectivity is not optimum and it'll distort the display into a certain degree due to the signal conversion.
You should seriously think to either use your DVI connector of the monitor OR another source. Using a video capture card as a conduit is not recommended at all.
you may also get clarification from XBOX LIVE support email at the official XBOX website.
