I have to agree with you that Bitdefender Internet Security is heavy than some other solution.

Lightweight? My oh my.
The only version of BDIS that I don't use is the latest version since I have already moved to CIS camp. I however highly doubt that the latest version can suddenly become lightweight. biggrin.gif

Hey, i'm using Kaspersky Internet Security 2011, and i'm kinda sien/bored of KIS already, cause it takes long time to update, and always give you useless warnings (badstuffs when gaming) also, after having my fresh new windows 7, ever since i installed KIS the startup time increased. So can anyone give me recommendations for an antivirus that doesnt slows down your startup time or gaming. Thanks rclxms.gif

Also a good suggestion. It is a good Internet Security Suite but a bit heavy on resources.

agree with you.. this my best AV so far..
Sit and worry free..

Several experience before I changed to this NOD32 Anti Virus

1) Bit Defender- light weight but very complicated
2) Norton- heavy.. lots of unneeded item
3) Panda- Very heavy.. until hang my p.c
4) Sophos- stupid AV, delete the windows system file to remove the virus
5) Kaspersky- Quite ok at first.. until the new version come up, getting to worst
6) Avira- Free.. but damn annoying pop up
7) Avast- Free.. quite ok.. but cannot detect several virus in my p.c

Sorry.. this my experience during years 2007-2009 .. bcoz that time still searching for the best AV for me..
Now already found it..

Complicated yes, but not very. Lightweight is a big NO. biggrin.gif

Talking from year of experience with it. Used to be my one and only favourite Internet Security Suite.

It doesn't provide real-time protection like any other AV.. The paid version of MalwareBytes' provides real-time protection but it was made to be used with a real-time AV..

MalwareBytes' speciality is the detection and removal of certain stubborn malwares/trojans/rootkits that the real-time AV misses/unable to remove.

I recommend you to use Microsoft Security Essentials which is very fast, easy to use and efficient. You can combine it with malware blockers such as Malwarebytes and Superantispyware.

I'm using bitdefender AV 2011 since I got the key for free. It using less resource than previous version. Lots of improvement made in version 2011 compare to version 2010.
I'm using it on Win 7 pro with 2gb ram (1.75gb usable) & it didn't slow down my system.

Why don't you just "test drive" a few antivirus yourself & decide which one the best for for computer.
