Yes, i want to force 1024x768 just for like 1 min so that i can align my program and then i set it back to 1024x600.. you know what driver ?

Added on September 7, 2010, 1:45 pmNevermind, figured it out. Its in the registry edit..

Open "regedit"
Search for "Display1_DownScalingSupported" and open it
Change the value from 0 to 1
Restart your system

The specific registry is located at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000

This will give you the options of 1024 x 768 and 1152 bla bla bla..

Yeah, i used windows anytime upgrade. It was pretty simple. And its smooth too..

About battery, batteries are meant to be used, so if you full charge it and keep it, its not very healthy for the battery. Just use it. How long you want to keep your laptop? 1000 years kah? Just don't overcharge it and if you are near a plug, just use the plug with the battery removed. Don't just keep the battery in the drawer. It serves no purpose..

Don't worry, your battery wont explode if you remove it or slot it in while on A/C. Also, yes, the AC will cut off when its 100% charged. The reason this is not good is that your battery will be a white elephant. Why want to keep your battery fully charged and then not use it? Isn't that the reason why you get a notebook instead of a desktop?

This is what i do.. i usually charge my netbook to 100% and then use it till around 10 - 15% and then charge it again. Batteries are meant to be used... Also, a study was written that if you'd like to keep your battery and not use it, charge it to 30 - 40 % and keep it, it will last longer than keeping it charged at 100%. This is why when the notebook is shipped to you, there is enough battery for installing/configuring the remaining windows XP/7.

Hope this clarifies...

I think you better get an ext HDD. Yah, and HP is quite stupid to have done that.. got C: E: and F:.. so stupid.. why couldn't they have partitioned C to 2 smaller drives like 100GB and the rest..

I am using this as my spare laptop for work cause my work laptop is a freggin brick.. D630 Latitude.. so i dont really need a backup, its the same image as my work laptop..

Added on September 13, 2010, 11:05 amAlso, why want to OC? I have a N10J Asus that i OC to 2.2Ghz... actually, truthfully saying this, my HP which runs at 1.83ghz and with Windows 7 Pro runs so much smoother and faster compared to my OCed Asus which runs on WIndows XP pro..

Maybe my Asus full of crap, thats why its slow compared to my Mini... i've got 140GB of free space in my HP but only about 30GB of free space in my Asus...

Keon1217, could you please attach the picture again... i am really interested to see if it really works with ddr3..

Added on October 11, 2010, 2:36 pmDid some reading on the DDR2 vs DDR3 and can come to conclusion that there is no significant difference other than lower voltages being used by DDR3 and therefore better battery life.

So its Cost vs Battery Life... smile.gif but good to know that it can support DDR3.. can take a pic of the RAM inside your netbook Keon1217?

Right click on My computer > Manage >Disk Management > click on C drive and right click "shrink".

Backup your data. And read more. dont know if this would work. just try at your own risk.
