By default (from factory):
C:\ is Windows partition (220GB)
D:\ is RECOVERY (13GB)
E:\ is HP Tools (99MB)

since the C is too large, thus i wanna shrink it, after i successfully shrink it, then i go format the new "Unallocated Partition" (to create New Simple Volume), but it pop out the problem as below... icon_question.gif

You can't adjust C:\ partition because it's being used for Windows.
If you want to adjust partition C:\, you'll have to start from the beginning: Windows Installation AKA Format.

not one of the partition already have the recovery ?

Yeah and when you install ubuntu on it, it will destroy the MBF for that partition itself. making the recovery parttion useless

Heard of wubi , google for it , download. You can install ubuntu and keep windows. Dont like ubuntu , simply remove it from windows. You still preserve your MBR , recovery partition and everything else.

Easier this way rather then you going through a complicated method

Anyone got this problem? The power adapter will just simply shut itself off suddenly regardless the switch is on.

Just shut off and the netbook will run on battery. Apparently mine just shut off itself lol

I used GParted live CD (but not on the Mini 110).
Can shrink and create new partition in freed-up space.
Be careful though Windows may not boot afterwards.
If so use the Windows Emergency Repair Disc, downloadable for free 32bit or 64 bit version (have not tried this my self yet)

ok, now I am getting more headache & confused rclxub.gif

ok, I think I wanna do a Clean Format on the C drive, since I got my own Windows 7 Ultimate nod.gif

So, may I know what are the risks & disadvantages, if I clean format the C drive?
1) cannot use back the "F11 Recovery" function anymore?
2) cannot find back & install back the original Netbook Drivers anymore? ---------> POSSIBLE??? shocking.gif

Like I say, all the drivers in the netbook is in the C:\SwSetup

and yes, when you clean format, you are not able to use the F11 recovery already, so you will need to make a DVD backup of the recovery which the netbook allows you to.

@fcuk90: I got a grub2 error, the infamous sh:grub error. FUUUUUUUUUU- now reinstalling

Added on July 26, 2010, 1:06 amAfter some googling, https://launchpad.net/~markus-tisoft/+archi...u0~ppa1_all.deb

I am trying and see if it works. Now reinstalling. very hectic rofl.
