Just bought a 35mm f1.8 for RM850. Not sure if it's considered cheap or not... sigh...

QUOTE(ongdandy @ Jul 11 2010, 03:11 AM) I think the 35mm is a sharp lens by itself regardless of what camera that you use. But the all known fact is that d3000 has poor performance at high ISO and of course low light, so using a 35mm on it sort of compensated those weaknesses to me. |

QUOTE(fcuk90 @ Jul 11 2010, 03:35 AM) Yeap, but it might be a good thing also if it's wider. Else, I won't be able to capture those KLCC shots. Could only see the bridge and nothing else Also, if your lens is wide, you can always crop it or move forward. For the case of the 50mm, it's already 'narrow' by nature compared to 35mm, so you can't add in the sides if you want to. In this case, it's better to have the details and you can crop it later rather than having no details at all. Furthermore, you cant be moving backward all the times hahaha else, you'll end up like that guy in the video discussed earlier on This post has been edited by nkymark: Jul 11 2010, 03:44 AM |

QUOTE(ongdandy @ Jul 11 2010, 03:59 AM) yea.. regret bought the wrong dslr..=/ should bought the d5k or d90 instead. I dont think that you should regret having the D3000. You can go to the D3000 group in Flickr and you can see those great shots posted by the members. It's still a decent camera, just that you dont compare it with the D90. They are in the different price range and category altogether. It's like you cant compare those cheap small red apples with those big Fuji ones.35mm is an auto or manual? still can be use for high range model right. For me, since I know that it does not perform in low light, i set the highest ISO used to be 800, not more than that unless necessary. And make sure that you have steady hands if you dont have a tripod. During daytime, it performs as good as any other dSLR. If you look at some photography mags, most great shots were captured using just a D40 with only 3 AF points. Be proud with what you have and you can make full use of it This post has been edited by nkymark: Jul 11 2010, 04:15 AM |

QUOTE(ongdandy @ Jul 11 2010, 04:20 AM) haha yea thanks for telling me that anyway..i'm still new to it.. i still need to learn alot from those pro's. haven't reach until advanced yet.. Hahahaha I'm no pro either. Just a newbie in photography too. 70-300 is a real good lens and I'm sure that you can do wonders with it on your D3000 currently using 70-300mm on my d3000. everytime i go out i sure go alone carry my dslr no matter where is it. i still need to improve my skill using aperture and shutter speed on manual mode. |
