hi all sifus..wanna ask your opinion a bit..
was thinking to get D5000 soon but a bit confuse with d lense kit..

which one shud i go for?
1. D5000 + 18-55 + 55-200 + freebies (USD900 ~ RM2.9k)
2. D5000 + 18-200 + freebies (USD1390 ~ RM4490)
3. D5000 + 18-105 + freebies (USD950 ~ RM3060)
4. D5000 + 18-55 + freebies (USD750 ~ RM2420)

btw, i'm getting my very 1st dslr soon in us..that's y i put US price..
my frens suggest to get lense that can zoom a lot so that later i will not regret..
as i'm studying in us, i'll be using the camera for general everyday shot, no specific shot (doesn't decide yet)..
my budget actually can afford basic 18-55 kit lens...to actually opt for choice no 1-3, i need to work part time 1st then can afford to buy..
can any sifus help me tongue.gif

*oh btw, i've wait months edi to get my very 1st dslr* biggrin.gif

i though about that..but afraid that i don't use d90 to its limit.. tongue.gif
i see at us price, the cheapest is USD999 ~ RM3220 (body & lense only)

Nikon D5000 mainly differs in that it is designed to appeal more to those that are looking for a camera that centers around automatic user friendly operation, while incorporating similar technologies and delivering the same level of image quality provided by the Nikon D90

i'm more into D5000 actually.. smile.gif

50mm f1.8D just rm400 or cheaper  compare to 35mm f1.8G rm800 (if u get d5000)

50mm f1.4D rm1000 compare to nikkor / sigma 50mm f1.4G rm1800
do the math biggrin.gif for long term.
*
wow a lot ar d price different..but, 50mm f.18D can be used on D5000 rite? but won't autofocus izit..but, still can manually focus..izit hard to actually manual focus, if not, then ok what to pair 50mm f1.8D with D5000 .. biggrin.gif

if u hv budget up to D90, might as well get D90.
*
right now i'm more into d5000..the only thing i'm attracted to d90 is the commander mode..coz i kind of interested in doing flash off camera..is it worth if i chose d90 over d5000 only b'coz of this..

manual focus is not easy, say you wanna take moving models, you'll never be able to manual focus on time  sweat.gif
*
really? i'm not planning to shot any models yet..but i like taking pics of people..especially frens, family when vacation or any events like graduation day..
so, i will be a problem for me to manual focus?

can i know why u more into D5k?? beccause of the lcd??
well...since u will go for event like graduation day...i advise u dont use manual focus...because u would certainly make some ppl waiting for u to focus...since that day is their big day...i doubt they will keep waiting for u to manual focus...
that just my thought...
*
not b'coz the lcd..coz it's cheaper to get faster..no need to wait.. tongue.gif

you can try to manual focus, but even on stationary objects, you can't get a sharp focus all the time. and it'll take longer for you to find the focus point compared to your camera doing it for you tongue.gif so, if you wanna let friends and family wait while you find a focus point, it's ok to go for d5k laugh.gif
*
tongue.gif guess i shud be a lot more patience & go for d90 then..

*oh, one other thing i'm more to d5000 is i afraid that i don't use all the feature & function in d90, resulting waste of money..

since ur interested in off camera flash mode, let me lay down what limitation that D5000 has in flash:
- no Auto FP high speed sync
- no built in flash commander
*
what's auto FP? i dun read much yet bout flash.. tongue.gif
