let me start by teaching u some basics
the number on lenses shows d zoom/tele distance
the bigger the number the bigger the zoom
lenses with 2 numbers, eg 18-55 means u can zoom in n zoom out, like a compact cam
lenses with 1 number, eg 35mm means it cant zoom, it's fixed

btw, singular is "lens", not "lense"

get Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 OS better
(but pricier )

it's quality vs OS lor
(though i admit Nikkor quality wins hands down, but that is if can get nice 2nd hand price la...)

dun confuse with Sigma older model 18-50 f/2.8
the new 17-50 f/2.8 comes with Optical Stabilization
Shashinki selling at rm2.9k, shops may selling cheaper

cant blame, cos their old model 18-50 f/2.8 without OS oso rm1.9k lor, LOL

1 thing Sigma wins Tamron though is AF speed
Sigma using HSM while Tamron is d old slow screw AF motor

n Sigma QC is better than Tamron i guess....

i thk 18-55 n Tammy 17-50 r more or less d same speed
but when come to bad lighting situation, 1 word for tammy, sloth!

u still got choice of Nikkor AFS 50 f/1.4G n Sigma 30mm f/1.4

err, cos heard comments that non-VC with motor version is d worst, so nvr tot about it
