I am just curious after reading an article on the piracy in china.
There is more PSP user than NDS user in china....
while the rest of the world are people having more NDS user than PSP user...
This shown that in country which having more psp than nds = serious piracy problem??
how about in Malaysia?
i think we are facing = problem of china.

After sticking my self in LYN, i found out that:
1.Most NDS fellow actually own most of the game they have....flashcard problem...
2.Less DSi user ever Login to the DSishop? (1.4 problem)
3.Few DSi user Brought any DSiware. (Does not support original)

what do you think?
post your comment?
correct me if i am wrong...

in terms of piracy both are on equal playing field la...it's just that, there are more kaki to play with them on the psp even though the psp game library is not that much compared to the nds.

the only affect from piracy that i feel is games r not so available for people who don't pirate, which is very annoying at times that u just want to join them. and frankly i don't mind joining them coz its a losing battle where original supporters get the short end of the stick. and i don't blame piraters. i blame nintendo.

BLAME nintendo was and will not the smart choice.
coz piracy in ASEAN really... so serious... there is alwez may be less than 1/10 user willing to support originality....
EXAMPLE: how many user having Genuine MICROS0Fty OFFICE???(countable....)
but i dont blame those who have Ninty stuff cant get ninty game....
me at sarawak here.... MIRI..
dont hope to see any NInty game on their store.... original lah....
the only way i support ninty .... DSIware....

BUT S0nny guys will be whole different story....
their UMD can be purchase at any S0NNy outlet...
heard from a friend, you can also pre-order any UMD at their store... just a bit time consuming..
last time he get a MONSTER HUNTER FREEDOM UNITE at the s0nny store...

You don't have to pirate even if you have a DS/ DSi, and you don't need to have PS3 to buy originals either. People tend to forget this quite often. wink.gif

why can't i blame nintendo? (btw, i also blame the pirates, but nintendo is the root problem) i give u example at the other end of the spectrum - i don't blame sony. i have no problems with game availability with ps3. coz ps3 cannot be hacked. that's y i blame nintendo coz they r not like sony

i think pirate are the source of problem....
(after look into Pr1me_Minister's GOLDEN words! rclxms.gif .... i am a great pirate too blush.gif whistling.gif ...)

i am actually taking something hack-able... which give us, as consumer A ALTERNATIVE choice....
FOr example psp in S0nny....
ps3 is No pirate lurking due to the "BD Solution"
rumour from china web:"we will 'soon' have cheap BD for sell!"<- from non- creditable source

so,
here is my Question?
IF ..... only IF lah...
PS3 hack-able just release today....
a new pieces of ps3 game which is pirated... equal quality with the ORI one....
only cost 1/4 of the ori BD? will you take the ori or the pirated?

oh...
just asking, do you ever brought any stuff from PSN? opinion on the soon release Premium PSN?

Oh... Finally heard someone got it....
personally, i dont think the card are great...
it sell at high price due to and only.... GBA playable...

Homebrew support too low... but due to its powerful processor...
plan to get one to try making my own homebrew...
can you do some review on it?

everybody says is illegal to pirate. but do u see anybody going to jail for it? do u see police coming to your house to confiscate your pirate goods? so, everybody is just doing the cakap tak serupa bikin. i want to support original, but what is in for me? i don't get a wide choice of variety, and don't get them on time, i pay high prices for it, my friends that pirate seems to benefit more than me, and they don't get caught doing that so called illegal thing. so what's in for me? u can preach is the right thing to do. but the right thing is always relative. in some parts of the world killing people is not a crime. people say its about dignity. but again, dignity is relative, just like "the right thing to do". there is really no bloody reason for an average person to support original.

but i still do, coz i hate hassles. but if ever the hassle is taken away, i'll be first in line.

Do u see anybody going to jail for it?
YES... try hook up the internet and try to search the law break of the R4 case.....
try go "filepump" webpage....

Do u see police coming to your house to confiscate your pirate goods?
No, and will be yes if got people report..... you can try...
police cant go to you house directly... due to "personal right"...
i think the fine is 10k per copyright title...

So, everybody is just doing the cakap tak serupa bikin.
yes. but at least you TRY.

I want to support original, but what is in for me?
well actually... every year there is alot of title.. great game... DIE... due to pirate's problem... the production unit dont have enough financial support for their next title.... i think IGN got the list of the game in COMA or certified....
support ori = Great after sale support + (some time free give and collectable) + funding for another great title...
and resale-able...

i don't get a wide choice of variety, and don't get them on time, i pay high prices for it,
my friends that pirate seems to benefit more than me, and they don't get caught doing that so called illegal thing.
Yap, that is the MAIN problem WHY we go for Pirate....
i think the malaysi@n cyber's law is not as strong as in others.
they may seen to benefit.... but actually....Not..

well.. example...
psp... try told them hook up PSN and Download 3E review.. see if it possible.. i dont think so...
some game with Internet function does work well too....
limited edition collectable.... <--- i like this one.... but not all...people does....
my case.... RED alert 3... dvd scratched... BAD little devil (kids) doing..... send back and got a new one... with E-download Coupon... Yeah!!

NO Reason for an average person to support original.
good!! and yes...
but we as human...
most of the time.... average people tends to buy something that is not his or her level....--> due to HUMAN desire!!
Expensive handphone with no talktime credit...---> my friend <---

personally,
support ori is not about dignity or something..
it is not to show off... or proved anything...
just to ensure something you enjoy the most.... keep on running...
produce more higher quality products in the future....

here a example from my lecturer on copyright:
if you build a house with all your heart...
wishing that one day you can live with you love one...
after finished... Some one else... you never met and never knew... live in it... without your approval...
how do you fell....???

oh.. sorry if i make you angry with my words...
i really have no intention to do so...
my bad...

>> this is wrong analogy. the better analogy for piracy is if u find cash on the street, would u take it?

>> the point i am making is no use hitting on pirates. is a waste of energy. better spend more time hitting on the console makers. hint: everyone - follow ps3. everybody embrace blueray. for handhelds, go invent mini blueray UMD or something, or use psp go technology (i heard is not yet cracked, or not worth cracking coz of its epic fail demand - either one)

if the next generation wii2, xbox7200, psp gone, 3ds doesn't do any serius shit on piracy, then we will be singing this same old song again

First.... Please... try not to bring up "P" stuffs....

2nd... it is not a analogy, it is a scenarios.
(different people can have different opinion.. and there is no right or wrong)
For you Question or analogy... i wont take it. but i will recommend others to take it...

3rd... you got a point there... and i totally agree...
the GAME maker are given us the choice... stronger or better AP (Anti-piracy) will kill piracy..
here's a merge....
Game maker NEED and should to enhanced their AP... BUT if no demand on people who want PIRATE stuff... who will go hack/crack it... if the AP is not strong enough... it will be easy to crack or hack.. and it go round and round.. recycle...just like the case of the WWF protection tiger or rhino or elephant....

4th ... i not asking who to blame or what....
the Question is WILL YOU SUPPORT ORIGINALITY? or at least TRY?
NOt spesific on game... books, movies, computer software... bags.... and others...
please review on the GOLDEN WORDS of the Pr1me_Minister...

5th... Sorry.....

actually.. i am asking him to do review on the card... example durable? power consuming?
... not on pirate stuff...
and HOMEBREW is not against the law...
it is on OPEN SOURCE ... where people sharing the code of their product...
and all ORIGINAL..... create by the user....
more detail... try hook up..."google open source"...
but is all up to him... he can pm me too...

the ahem hardware will became ahem hardware if.... ahem game include or promoted along the ahem hardware...

I have to agree to this one. You do your pirating, I do my buying, nobody gives a rat's ass about each other.

Buying ori game is hard? Ever heard of Play-Asia.com? Heck, I even managed to get my Pokemon games from local store, on the same day as the US launch (1 day earlier if you put timezones into consideration). DS games are very easy to get locally, all you just need is ASK.

Both of them are new and sealed, and I got it a lot cheaper than its retail price (although shipping is a killer).

And to be honest, we even need DRMs or some super anti-piracy chips to force us into buying originals? Many PC games publishers opted not to include crippling DRMs into their games, you don't see them going out of business eventhough people still pirating the game by the millions. doh.gif
