Based on what people give them cos its tied into their CD-key so if they put pokingmon as their real name registered with the key they he/she is pokingmon.

u would need that guy's bnet email to add him as a realID fren...
that's y i dun get why are people overreacting to realID...

within the game u would have 2 IDs: -
- ur realID aka ur bNet ID which is only seen by those u added/ approved as realID frens (requires that person's email for bnet in order to add)
- ur in game ID aka ur IGN/ nickname

ur privacy is still protected as long as u dun broadcast ur bnet email to other ppl...
btw ur realID = ur bnet email denoted by ur firstname/lastname combination on ur contact list...

note: ur firstname/ lastname combination IS NOT UR REALID... ur realID = ur bnetID = ur bnet email login... ppl can have similar firstname/ lastname combination but not similiar bnet email login

do u know how is the naming works on bnet?
u can enter any name u like...
and u can have multiple people wit the similar firstname/ lastname

i ask u a very simple question, if u dun reveal other personal information about urself online how can people track u down?

try to know more about the study of privacy issues on the internet...
if ur information somehow leaked on the internet, its not ur firstname/ lastname issue but rather that leaked source itself...
