QUOTE(ImAn @ Aug 5 2010, 10:59 PM) hello everybody, just upgrade Play On HD. so far everything fine. but a few animation got problem when play on my lcd. see photo below. [attachmentid=1711549] tv spec : Samsung 32" HD ready & LG 32" Full HD movie spec : 1080p. can anybody not what the problem? so far this kind of problem appear at Finding Nemo, Madagascar and Planet 51. all this movie is 1080 thanks That is the problem with all realtek and older sigma chip based players. It cannot play HD mkv with high reframe rates. Any mkv with more than 4 reframe rates will have this kind of problem. That is why I avoided AC ryan and Extremer till now. Those movies will play flawlessly on the WDTV Live.

QUOTE(ImAn @ Aug 6 2010, 11:36 AM) damn! i just upgrade from WDTV Live to AC Ryan. WDTV remote is too basic. no skip function, no go to function. that's why i upgrade. arghh! so what player u recommend? I won't call a move from WDTV Live to AC Ryan an upgrade. In fact its a downgrade as the sigma chip on the WDTV Live is more powerful than the realtek chip. The only thing going for the realtek chips is its ability to play rmvb. I do agree the remote of the WDTV Live is very basic, but its more than enough for daily movie viewing. Btw, the WDTV Live do have skip function....just press fast forward first then only press the skip button to skip in 10 minutes interval. It does not get you to the exact point but you can always use the fast forward features. Added on August 6, 2010, 11:55 amQUOTE(Sauron76 @ Aug 6 2010, 11:37 AM) Agree, but the WDTV Live is so much cheaper yet it playback mkv just as good too. QUOTE(Sauron76 @ Aug 6 2010, 12:01 PM) I thought they have this basic function. Luckily I own Popcorn Hour (well, honestly..during the time I bought it, WDTV not exist yet ) Its not that bad. 10 min skip plus 16x ff gets you to any part of your movies real fast too. Not a big issue for me. I am sure your old popcorn hour cannot play high reframe mkv so each player have its strength and weakness.

Still no HDMI 1.4????
I already have a media player that can handle all the mkv i throw at it and the only reason for me to upgrade in future will be 3D support.

QUOTE(wuanzi @ Jan 1 2011, 04:55 PM) i think this models after Panasonic's bluray player which has 2 HDMI 1.3 - and could have the potential of playing 3D content. A Lot of people seem to have the misconception of equating 3D with HDMI1.4 - in panasonic's case, its 1.3 player outputs 3D movie through 1 hdmil and sound via the other. Panasonic bluray player that have 2 hdmi output have 1x hdmi1.4 and 1x hdmi1.3 That way if you receiver do not have hdmi1.4, you can still get 3d picture from hdmi 1.4 to tv and another hdmi to receiver.

WDTV has always been on sigma. WDTV Live sigma 8655 is already a superb chipset as it can play the highest bitrate mkv or m2ts without any hiccups. Only downside is no rmvb.
