I am also using ACR DVR HD. Using it to watch movies as well record shows every now and then.I suspect your HDD could be dying or having bad sectors. Try replace another 2TB HDD and format it with the software. Mine crash or freeze every now and then, but after replacing the drive its back to working properly again.
