Hi PlayON!HD Mini2 Owners,
due to several problems regarding the autoscan function which makes the unit go into an infinite reboot loop here is a little how-to fix this problem. The main reason this happens is because some files/folders are damaged on the external USB Storage (HDD) due to unexpected shutdowns for example. Second reason can be that the actual scan database is corrupted for a simliar reason. You have basically 2 ways of doing this: I. repair the HDD: 1. connect your external storage device (HDD) to the PC 2. let the Operating System scan the HDD and fix the errors or do a chkdsk /f from the dos command prompt. 3. on the HDD delete the '.THEATER' folder (this will remove the database) 4. in Windows use Safe Removal Tool to remove the HDD 5. disconnect the USB Cable and connect it back to the Mini2 and power it on The unit should come back as expected and work normal again. If this fails for some reason and the unit is still rebooting please try II. NOTE: before shutting down the player when connected with an external USB Storage device press the 'Eject' Button to safe remove the HDD from the Mini2 first. II. disable autoscan storage 1. switch on the player without any usb storage connected 2. goto SETUP -> SYSTEM -> Autoscan Storage and disable this option 3. goto SETUP -> SYSTEM -> Clear History Function and switch this on (pre r4585) or just press 'Enter' to clear the cache and history (r4585+) 4. at this point i'd recommend to follow the steps provided in I. as well just to make sure the HDD is properly cleaned / fixed. 5. plug back in the external device (HDD) to the Mini NOTE: before shutting down the player when connected with an external USB Storage device press the 'Eject' Button to safe remove the HDD from the Mini2 first. NOTE: Please be aware that if you have corrupted files/folders on your HDD and you scan them or let them fix they might get deleted. So if you have important files on the HDD backup them first before fixing! Questions / Suggestions? best regards, Source http://www.acryan.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=172&t=15010 |

QUOTE(pc-ox @ Dec 22 2011, 04:41 PM) Just bought Playon!HD Mini2 from Digital Match, Queensbay Mall. I went to Jusco Aeon Seberang Perai branch first, but they out of stock, so bought from Queensbay branch. Too bad, they not offer promotion price for Mini2. Bro,I saw this model (Veolo) at both branch and price around RM8++. Just tested some movies. Every format run fine except RMVB type file, when play the video, the screen black out, but can hear sound. Then, the player no function at all, no respond when press any button at controller, need force to switch off power supply. My current firmware is V9.5.5r2988. Download the latest firmware (V9.5.5r5440) now, hopefully can resolve the black out problem. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: After updated to latest firmware, the black out problem remain same. Found out not all RMVB files can't play, those video files with aspect ratio 16:9 can play with no problem, those ratio 4:3 video files can't play at all. Setting problem?? Anyone can help? Try to post your probelm here. These are the ac ryans guys. Maybevthey can help. |

Guys, with the current influx of better quality mkvs file and many files also come with 5.1 or 7.1 TrueHD.
Our acryan is able to support pass through. Pass through and become stereo. Is this the same case with other player? I felt this is a big drawback of the player, cause recently I have got a 32gb of MI4, but it downmix the TrueHD to stereo. |

Bro, I actually connected the mini2 audio output via optical cable to my avr that can take on TrueHd, but seems like mini 2 is only able to downmix to stereo.
Very disappointed lor. |

i am using optical cable (red light type) to channel the audio to the avr.
you mean that to play trueHD only hdmi cable can carry the signal? optical cable will not be able to? please advice. |

i have sad.
I have a 42GB of Transformers 3 - TDOFM But my AC Ryan is telling me that they cant play the interactive menu due to the profile not supported. Will there be support for full BD menu in the future? Or it is limited by the realtek chipset ability? |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 18 2012, 06:39 PM) as per comments in that thread, some multimedia audio equipment can't support dolby/dts. I concur your statement. cause i am using, optical cable from mini2 to avr. and the display only indicate DTS / DD eventhough i am playing a TRUEHD audio.the only option left is the L-R audio, i.e. just stereo which should be ok since you're going for 2.0 or 2.1, right? Added on April 18, 2012, 6:57 pm righto! the inclarity arises sometimes due to some assumptions we make about the use of cables, avr and the actual media files. to my knowledge: 1. dtshdma/dolbytruehd can only be achieved using hdmi via avrs that have hmdi input. 2. tvs all come with stereo only, all dts/dolby/hd audio issues are irrelevant, just mixed to stereo 3. old avrs w/o hdmi can't handle dtshdma/dolbytruehd, will just deliver dts/dolby using digital audio (coaxial or toslink, both will work). assuming file is good, avr has hdmi input, acryan audio pass-thru set, for 5.1 audio setup: 4. acryan pohd and veleo can't deliver dtshdma/dolby but will downgrade to just dts/dolby. 5. acryan mini (at least the later ones), mini2, pohd2, essential, all will deliver dtshdma/dolbytruehd above is my experience. if i'm missing something, pls correct me. tq! But I would like to ask one question. Why is it that when i play DTS the sound is sharper and louder compare to dolby digital ? In dolby digital, the conversation is so soft and when the action comes in, the sounds become so loud. In DTS i dont have this issue. |

bro. need some help here. been using pohd mini2 for sometime.
now my collection of hd movies have grown to like 4nos of HDD. 3x 1TB and 1X2TB. I tried to hook up a 4X USB Hub to enable me to connect all 4 simultaneously. I bought a A4 tech brand of USB hub. Upon connecting to mini2, it cant detect all my hdd at all. Direct plug in into mini2 usb port can work. Please enlighten me how to overcome this..... any particular brand for the USB hub? |

Pm me bro for sites to access and source for good mkv files.
I have some decent sites. QUOTE(xowangzi @ Dec 10 2012, 01:34 PM) Hi sifus, I would like to know where you guys get the movie file from ? Mkv ? Rmvb? This player can support so many file type. Is it possible to encode Dolby digital audio file into my downloaded movies from QVOD or online ? So that my home theater won't waste. Currently I watch rmvb use the coaxial and mute the HDMI from TV and my subwoofer cannot give correct and stable bass. I guess the audio encode not good enough. Maybe is just simple basic audio. Can I download it separately and encode it ? Thanks. Added on December 11, 2012, 9:44 amThanks bro. Time to jump ship to dune or popcorn I guess... QUOTE(AVFAN @ Dec 11 2012, 01:14 AM) not many ac ryan enthusiasts left to help answer questions! i'll try.... This post has been edited by Gary: Dec 11 2012, 09:44 AMdirect hdmi connection to player should give audio, whether lpcm or passthru. play diff files, check for bad connection or if you had set tv to mute? try to plug in same hdmi with a dvd player to see if tv works fine. if nothing works, the only explanantion is that something is faulty with the player. Added on December 11, 2012, 1:15 am not sure but i think mini2 cannot take a hub. this bit is not mentioned in the old manual that i have. Added on December 11, 2012, 1:18 am where to get these files is not be to discussed openly in forum! best you talk to people you know and ask them to show you. rmvb is low grade, you will never get good audio. rmvb is commonly used in asian tv series, unlikely there is any good audio track for such shows, except maybe a few mega budget ones. Added on December 11, 2012, 1:21 am i have tried on pohd, din work, pretty sure that's the case. |

bro. how broke is the remote? I also had a broken remote, i thought so.
then i googled the entire universe but i cant get. so i opened the remote controll and found some dirt near the battery area. just clean the chipboard. and it can function very well already. try it. open the remote and clean the entire motherboard especially near connection areas with the goldish color dirt. |
