Notice: This firmware version requires at least v7.3.x.r3582 or later installed in your unit.
Before you proceed, please go to SETUP - SYSTEM - SYSTEM INFO to check your current firmware version.
Download and install r3582 if required and then proceed to update to r4090.

Friend, the 4090 is about 2 weeks old... tested and it is hard to see the cursor position... hope it get better with the official version later. at least something like mede8er beta v4 will be good.

I noticed that the date and time for my POHD (came with latest fw r3582) always change randomly after I set it correctly and on standby mode (i.e. power if not switched off). is this normal or a bug ? there is no network connection for my unit.

Just rollback to previous beta ver.more stable.mine also come with 3582 but always hang n lagg

Added on October 16, 2010, 10:32 amVery easy, go to AV in section from the display. Then you can see the movie playing thru the AV in port via other players, like DVD player or Astro decoder. When u press the 'REC' red button, the DVR will start to record.

FW 4090 just a minor (interim) fix for some of the features that went missing in the 3582FW. Other problems still not fixed yet. It is still unstable and still hangs, though not as frequent as 3582.

They still don't know how to get it stable after more than a month, which is really worrying

I already posted before about this FW 4090 (2 weeks ago), post no. 249.

Got 1 problem to ask.....why i can hear sound but no picture.Try with 2 different source but same movie.
Can someone tell me what are the problem?

are you using composite cable (yellow jack) or HDMI?

Go to Playon!HD website under 'Technical support' and read the 'sticky' thread at the top with the title "MKV file not playing information. You will find your answer there.

More and more MKV are created by the newer MKV software (which uses compressed Headers) which the POHD cannot play.

Sad to say, other Brands using Realtek chip (e.g Xtreamer) already solved the problem with their FW release, but AC Ryan as usual still blaming Realtek company instead of finding a solution

There is a workaround solution available (provided by users initially). Now AC Ryan has created a sticky thread to take the credit, haha.

Just go there and find out yourself. Too much to explain here.

That's good to hear

But don't waste too much time on remuxing your MKVs. There is news that AC Ryan is coming out with a Beta very soon to fix this problem at the FW level. So hold on for a while.

im getting fed up with pohd. a lot of mkv got voice only, invalid file message, date n time not stored when powered down. new firmware is totally worthless. maybe it's time to move to sigma based player.

As for the audio portion, sad to say there isn't any improvements. (might not be improved with the next release on SDK3.X platform). We are working with a new platform at this moment for the audio fix. Thus this still requires some time for our developers to fully digest the codes and changes. Thus, we do hope that the community would understand our stand at this moment.

It is the same as all SDK3.X platform requires, please update your PV73100 to r3582 before proceeding to update with this firmware.

Although it does improve on playback of MKV with compressed Headers, it is still unstable as before (prone to hang while browsing. Have to hard reset). .
