QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Feb 2 2012, 09:51 AM) great! thx dude i see.. seems like me getting the wifi dongle then.. for now my router is really close to my tv set but perhaps one day might change.. so its best to get one then If your router is near enough to the TV which allows you to connect with wired LAN, save your $$$ and hold off on the wifi dongle. Wired connection transfer rates definitely more stable and reliable

QUOTE(kelvyn @ Feb 2 2012, 02:35 PM) If comparing between homeplug and wifi, which is better? (stable & reliability) Homeplug will be better. That's what I am using to connect my player in the bedroom to the NAS in my study

QUOTE(alvincks @ Feb 18 2012, 12:40 AM) Hey Sifu, Any recommendation on which model to take ? and any forummer selling it ? Thanks If you need it with an internal HDD, go for the Playon!HD2. If you don't, Playon!HD Mini2 will do. If ability to surf the web is required, go for the Veolo

QUOTE(hmwong @ Apr 7 2012, 08:33 PM) Life is too short for me. I love to watch movies but can't spend too much hours in front of the idiot box. Sometimes on PC, I watched movies with increased speed, say 1.5X to 1.7X so that I can finished the movie during lunch-time. Does any media players has such feature? You can FF at 1.5x, 2x, 4x, up to 16x (if i not mistaken). At 1.5x & 2x, there's still audio albeit, sounding like chipmunks

QUOTE(alvincks @ Apr 9 2012, 11:03 PM) Guys, i saw the AC Ryan forum , many of them complain about the product's buggy and the support don't really have good response enough, is that true ? I'm planning to get one, not sure should go for A.C Ryan mini2 or Dune Smart H1, any recommendation ? alvincks It really depends what you are prioritizing. For me, I have a mini2 (as well as an Asus o-play) at home, meant solely for watching videos and sometimes, audio playback. My web surfing needs are fulfilled via the notebook and desktop PC. If your needs are the same as mine, the Dune would be a better investment, assuming you do not need RMVB playback

QUOTE(alvincks @ Apr 10 2012, 02:44 PM) Thanks Richard, seem like most of the hong kong drama series are in .rmvb format, my wife like to watch the HK drama...how's your mini2 performance compare to Asus o-play? The GUI of the ACRyan is heaps better than the Asus O-Play! If asked to choose between the 2, I'd go with the former Added on April 10, 2012, 4:25 pmQUOTE(colt45 @ Apr 10 2012, 12:15 PM) guys..really noob question here.. can we this thing download movies using torrent? TQ Yes, the ACRyan models support BT This post has been edited by richard912: Apr 10 2012, 04:25 PM

I just brought my old Playon!HD ACR-PV73100 out of "retirement" from the storeroom after more than 5 years (yes, I am a tech hoarder) after its successor "died" over the weekend. Managed to download and install firmware v7.4.3.r7317(Asian).
Is there a newer version than this? If so, can someone point me in the right direction for download or maybe email it to me (along with any earlier versions that I may need)?
