QUOTE(stinky @ May 29 2011, 12:46 PM) Hi all, You can refer to the product manual to configure this.My HD2mini (with external HDD) is connected to a router and the router is connected to another PC through LAN. How do i set up my computer so that i can transfer files from the computer directly to the folder in the network HDD? Thanks http://www.acryan.com/downloads/manuals/AC...3800_Manual.pdf Should be under point 3.10 on page 50. |

QUOTE(steven11 @ May 31 2011, 09:49 PM) A good choice, just make sure to get a good NAS as some NAS are known to have slower transfer rates. For NAS, better do some research online and get the best possible option that suits your budget. |

QUOTE(steven11 @ Jun 1 2011, 08:21 AM) Oops sorry was sleepy at that time, misread the '+' sign, thought you wanted to get POHD2 and a NAS separately. Yes it can be done also but of course it would be better to get a dedicated NAS. Also, make sure you use a green HDD, do not put performance HDD or it can get very hot inside the player. |

QUOTE(steven11 @ Jun 1 2011, 11:33 AM) wow thanks OKLY, great tips Yea because I have received some feedbacks from my customers that when they insert a higher performance HDD (not a green HDD), it tends to get very hot and almost can't touch the player. So they tried using a green HDD instead and it was much better. Otherwise if you're still worried about the heat, you can always use a notebook cooler, connect to the USB port for power and place the player on top of it. |

QUOTE(BoxBuilder @ Jun 4 2011, 11:21 AM) Hi OKLY, some info for you regarding NAS. We do not recommend WD Green because it coz a lot of problem to the NAS. When the NAS not reading, the green will stop spining. But when we wake up the NAS, the green baby a bit lazy to wake up slowly and coz the NAS cannot find the green baby and indicated that this green baby is a bad boy and your NAS will be huha... Yea apparently WD Caviar Green with the new format have a lot of issues with majority of NAS. I think my customer tried another green HDD, he was very happy with it. QUOTE(BoxBuilder @ Jun 5 2011, 12:55 PM) If for media files, which is not so important for NAS, Hitachi or Samsung is good. But for crucial data, WD RE4 or Black is highly recomended, of course, price is about 30% to 50% higher. Not much experience with Hitachi HDDs but Samsung F3 line is pretty good (I myself is slowly converting all my HDDs to Samsung F3), price for performance definitely almost unbeatable at its class. Won't the Caviar Black generate too much heat? But if attaching to a NAS enclosure then should be alright since the NAS box will be bigger to have slightly more room for ventilation also helped by the cooling fan. The A.C.Ryan player in my opinion quite small so ventilation won't be so good inside the player if fit in a high performance HDD, to me I think I would recommend something like the Samsung F3, runs quite cool and also offers decent performance. |

QUOTE(Mickey C @ Jun 6 2011, 04:00 PM) Can anybody help me. I updated with this (Firmware: V7.4.3 r2115), once I updated, the picture have 2 black bar on the left hand side and right hand side, as you can see in my attachment. Before I do any update, it was okay, no black bar on the left side and right side. I checked again, e'ry setting is correct, picture format is all 16:9..... Before the firmware update, the same exact file was viewing in full-screen? So your TV is confirming that the display is 1080p 16:9 right? It looks like a TV zoom feature that caused it (on my Sony TV, the options for the zoom are something like Zoom, Wide Zoom etc.). Firmware problem right????? |

QUOTE(Mickey C @ Jun 6 2011, 04:20 PM) Before firmware update, everything is okay. The TV setting is just fine, I used another media player to play the same file. It looked okay, no black bar on the left and right side. When black bar showed in left and right side, meaning something is very wrong with the firmware. You mentioned that you flashed to V7.4.3 r2115 but from the website, the latest is v7.3.3.r4824, maybe try using the latest one instead. Can I use back the old firmware? Can the PlayOn read the old firmware???? Model: ACR-PV73100... This post has been edited by OKLY: Jun 6 2011, 05:19 PM |

QUOTE(Mickey C @ Jun 6 2011, 05:28 PM) As u can see my attachment is really V7.4.3 r2115 Seems like that is a beta firmware and it is not stated as an official release yet so there might be some bugs or instabilities which can be quite common in beta firmwares. You think the POHD unit and can down grade the firmware to V7.3.3 r4824??? I also don't know actually. As for flashing back to an older firmware, I found some steps online which might help: QUOTE How to force flash 1) Copy the firmware onto a USB flash drive formatted with FA32. 2) Pull the power from the player and plug in the flash drive. 3) Press and hold down the players power button keeping it pressed. 4) Push in the power cable and keep holding down the power button. 5) eventually a blue firmware flash screen should appear after which you can let go of the power button. 6) The firmware flash is automated so it either works or doesn't. Disclaimer: Do this at your own risk as this is so far an unofficial method of flashing. So far I think there isn't any official support to flash back to an older firmware. |

That's weird because so far I am not experiencing any issues with this firmware version, I'm starting to wonder if it's any issue with TV incompatibilities or something similar since you are now the second case reported to have that side black bars.

QUOTE(moko82 @ Jun 8 2011, 03:56 PM) hi, i got acryan hd mini. i use ori wifi adapter 300mbps. i got lagging problem when i watch movie from my dlink nas. can someone here help me with this problem Lag issues when streaming are usually caused by a network limitation. Although your wireless is rated 300mbps, it does not mean it will achieve the full speed plus wireless connectivity somehow can be unstable at times when there are interferences and so on. Also, your media file is also another factor, some HD files have a higher bit rate for video/audio thus demanding more out of your network, usually these files will require a gigabit connection to stream smoothly. |

QUOTE(moko82 @ Jun 9 2011, 09:45 PM) when i play rm video file also have lagging also .. so could u give me some suggestion how to solve it?? First you need to determine if it's a network problem or not, can you try connecting a thumbdrive or external hard disk to the USB port and play from there. If it still lags, you might want to consult the dealer/retailer you bought from and see if a warranty claim is needed or not. |

Updated to the latest firmware on my Playon!HD Mini 2, what I can say is so far so good without any issues. Only thing I noticed is that there is some slight delay for it to turn off upon pressing the power button on the remote, when I press it, seems to have a slight delay of few seconds before it turns off.
Previously it turned off almost instantly upon pressing the power button but nothing serious here. |
