Has anyone tried egreat brand of players?

http://www.egreatworld.com/en/

Funny thing is when i visit this site, my internet security popped up warning of malware and stopped me from loading it.

Even certain LYN threads also has this problem..it seems coming from the links that the members pasted to the discussion thread.

PlayonHD End support already ?? after release beta firmware then end support? so lastest firmware v7317 stable enough?
*
to me, v7317 is ok for mini, mini2 and pohd2. it's not good for old pohd, had to go back to the 1st version of gui2.0.

i'm waiting for them to release a new one that will work well for pohd. if no more support, too bad.

i'll hate it but will just wait for next generation that plays 3d.

I just found out my hornettek showcase 2.5&3.5 HD cannot display Chinese Subtitles in *.SRT files. I think, if it is in *.GSS or *.IDK+*.SUB then it will be ok

I know even using PC not many program able to display Chinese SRT , VLC gave me "boxes" and MPC-HD gave me "symbols"

only a chinese developed player call SPlayer (similar multipurpose player like MPC-Star but lighter) able to display Chinese SRT sub flawlessly.

can this AC Ryan player do the magic?

yes, this v7317 is tricky... i had problems the last time and has reverted to 3966.

not sure what happened, i recently tried reinstalling 7317 and it's ok now. 7317 is a better firmware, if it's working, that is!

can forget v7716 as the beta will remain beta, no more work done. i guess for the older models, that's it. no more new firmware. then again, overall, not too bad - had >2 yrs of good playtime, still doing a wonderful job.

Discontinued AC Ryan Products

Hello to all our AC Ryan customers,

We would like to inform you that we decided to stop the development for some of our older products. The main reasons behind this are that these products are more than 2 years old and that our hardware and SDK manufacturer has stopped the support of these products. This means that we are unable to support or improve the firmware development any further.

The products affected by this EOL (end of life) are the following:

• ACR-PV73100 – Playon!HD
• ACR-PV73200 – Playon!HD Mini
• ACR-PV73500 – Playon!HD Essential
• ACR-PV76120 – Playon!DVR-HD

From now on, you can find the above products in the newly created “Discontinued AC Ryan Products” section here on our forums. This means there will be no more firmware updates for these discontinued products and the support will be minimal. If you have purchased any of the above products recently, your product will still naturally be under warranty and you can of course contact our support for questions even after this announcement has been made. You find all our support details on our official support page here: http://www.acryan.com/support/

Best regards,
AC Ryan Staff

Mine is ACR-PV73200 – Playon!HD Mini LOL

So can become mumra already LOL

Btw, just update to the latest firmware and work beautifully.

Just one question, can it support 2TB 2.5" WD?

I don't dare to gamble (By first and try later). That little bugger cost be a boom LOL

The big different between HD2 and mini2 are:-

Playon!HD2
- can add 3.5" SATA/SATA2 HDD up to 2TB for internal HDD
- 1x USB 3.0
- BitTorrent

Playon! HD mini 2
- Silent during turn on because don't have fan (no noise)

Other functions quite similar between both.

What happen to Acryan now? No firmware updates since last two months, lots of unresolved issues.

Looking to change media player now, any idea if WDTV Live is better?

The choice still up to you. What's are most critical features you need from player? Are the features in Playon series or in other brands? What's your budget? Playon series normally more expensive than China brands. For me, the Playon built quality quite good.

A.C.Ryan Europe declared bankrupt, but A.C.Ryan Singapore still operate. I think firmware release will be more slower now since they in critical condition.
