she would like to survey if there are other needier homes besides the popular ones which already recieve alot of help.
any small needy homes which you guys think really need help to recommend to her? around KL and PJ
she aims to try to accommodate as much as around 60 pax (can combine homes)
appreciate your feedback! icon_question.gif

I'm a Mass Comm students and been doing events in children's home. I found out that most of the children's home here in KL and Selangor are sponsored by companies or churches. However I found out most of the OKU home and disable home needs more helps in terms of financial and medical support. Anyway, good luck! biggrin.gif

Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-kanak Cacat
31 Jalan SS 3/39, Petaling Jaya.

Light green painted house with brown gate. I think
it houses some forty inmates, young to older ones.

The above home is near my house. Their DVD player is no
longer working, so I took it for repair. However, it is an old
model, does not support MPEG-4, and the repairman quoted
me at least $40-50, but that is only if it is a more common
fault like a worn motor.

I think the laser is burnt out, since I can hear the motor running
but it is unable to read any discs. Thus it will definitely cost more
than that, making any repair unfeasible.

If you or your friends may be able to donate a newer one to
them, that would be nice. I download movies from the net and
burn them for my nephews quite often, so I could do the same
for these disabled kids at the same time.

However, most of these movies from the net are in MPEG-4 AVI
format, which only the newer DVD players can read.

The above home is actually a branch, and their HQ is in Taman Megah,
where there are some 70 kids housed in four homes.

You may of course also help these homes if you wish.
Their quoted website, http://www.ppkkctm.org, is not functioning.
Maybe some IT man here can help them to bulid one.

Incidentally, their caretaker here has the same surname as me !

Under the "Income & Expenses" page in the PureCharityHub site,
it costs some $60,000 monlty to run the homes. The rental for the
SS3/39 branch alone is $4,500.

As we all may know that Our country Pakistan went through different disasters in recent years. Earth quake 2004, Flood in 2010 and 2011. These disaster gave us huge amount of orphan children.
We have established an orphan house. we have 9 children. 7 boys and 2 girls age between 5 to 13.We have rented a house and appointed a very respected and reliable family to look after their well-being. The children are provided with an environment which is conducive to their proper development and security. More emphasis is laid at providing the children with a familial environment rather than the surroundings of a boarding school that are in vogue nowadays. We are now planning to expand this orphan house and provide the children with more facilities and resources in future. We also plan to increase the number of children from 09 to at least 20. We hope, that with the help of more generous and kind-hearted people, we can continue to expand and grow in our endeavors for the betterment and security of these children.

We would be glad to receive any form of help or assistance either in kind or cash from the general public and kind spirited individuals, groups and organizations both locally and internationally to enhance the survival, development, well-being and growth of these underprivileged Children.

We are in critical need of individuals or organizations both locally and internationally that may adopt or include the needs in their monthly support plan and pledge to support them on a regular monthly basis.
looking forward.

Just a note. I have been working with 90 orphanages nationwide for few years now.

There are NO homes which can be considered more needy or less needy. All have their own needs. Some people tend to see well managed homes as rich and do not need help but these are the homes where the management is good, so good they get attention and constant contributions.

ANY homes get constant fundings but some homes which look like they are poor at times mismanage funds.

Therefore, perhaps when looking to help homes, I suggest help an organisation/home near you so you can help consistently, not by looking at whether they need more.

If you have time, please visit house of Joy @ taman kinrara for the children whom they need a lot of guidance for their school work and they do need some donation for clothing/books too.

Yes, there are a few homes having problem in guiding the children with their study as some of them are special children. Consistent help is always better.

I just visited the home today after work, to verify their problem, you can't imagine how worst the situation was and how terrify the environment they are living in, you can see it yourself in my posted pictures, they are now enough food to sustain for they daily dietary at the moment, quite a numbers of people donated food and grocery items to them after they read my post on FACEBOOK, deeply appreciated for those Good-hearted peoples.
The most important issue for the home and needed to be settle immediately is to help them to improve their hygiene problem, i just been there for half an hour and i got my entire body red and itchy like being bite by a batch of insect, when i'm home, i got my self to clean up in the bathroom for more than an hour and i almost used the entire bottle of detol shower cream then only i able to get rid of the itchiness.
Meanwhile, another serious issue was the home is not operate by a professional, or i can say he is a person that with Good-hearted but have no enough knowledge to handle this home, he just do it because of his kindness and he is definitely a good person, he wanted to take care all of them in well and good condition, but i can see that it is really out of his ability, thus i hope some of the NGO peoples or professional in handling orphanage home and old-folk home could come over to give them some advise and lend a helping hand to them.
Donation will just solve their problem for short-term, what they need is a long-term plan and need a group of professional peoples to help them up, therefore i do not encourage to raise any fund for them at the moment.
i will tag the person in charge elder son in my post later, whoever have queries, you could ask him directly, some of the story is not right to come out from me, you could get whatever you want to know from him, thank you and good night.

Hello!

I am writing this on behalf of Project Happiness, which is a project started by a team of passionate medical students from Taylor’s University School of Medicine (TUSOM), in hopes to improve the lives of children living in ‘Pusat Jagaan Beribuan Kasih’, which is an orphanage in Kajang who are in need of funds and public support.

We are pleased to inform that hosting a Charity Carnival Day at the orphanage in hopes of raising funds and awareness for the orphanage!

Event Details
• Date/Day: 4th October 2014 (Saturday)
• Time: 10am to 4pm
• Venue: Pusat Jagaan Beribuan Kasih, Kajang (Add: No. 3, Lot 1547, Belakang Taman Bangi, Jln Reko, 43000 Kajang)
• Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/Projecthappiness.tusom
• Event Page: https://www.facebook.com/events/687497201347182/

Orphanage Background
Pusat Jagaan Beribuan Kasih is an NGO, founded by Ms Kavita and her friends. However at the moment she is running the entire orphanage by herself and struggling to make ends meet. Currently, the orphanage survives on the mercy of irregular donations of the good public. She has about 45 residents under her wing of which there are 25 children of which 5 are disabled children and the rest are adults without a home. Living conditions are sufficient for survival but questionable in terms of a healthy environment.

About Project Happiness
Project Happiness is an ongoing project, which started months ago. We are currently supported by Khind Starfish Foundation, Munchy’s Food Industries Sdn Bhd, Julie’s Biscuit, CM Creative Design, Taylor’s University as well as a few other sponsors. We have also received many kind donations from members of the public. Our mission is:
1. To improve the quality of life of the children of the orphanage through the process of refurbishment.
2. To carry out an interactive workshop aimed to develop some of their skills.
3. To hold a carnival to raise awareness amongst the public as well as to provide an opportunity for the orphans to display their artwork and have a fun filled day.

About the Carnival Day
The Carnival Day will be considered as the final event to wrap up Project Happiness. Refurbishment of the orphanage is well underway and the workshop will be held shortly before the carnival. Carnival Day highlights include:
• Booths for games, food and beverages
• Performances
• Sharing session by the founder of the orphanage, Miss Kavitha
• Booth to showcase the ‘before-and-after’ pictures of the orphanage following the refurbishment efforts made possible by Project Happiness
• Booth to accept kind contributions from the public eg. Funds, toys, books, clothes etc.

Coupons for the carnival can be purchased via the following methods:
• Pre-sale booth at Taylor’s University on 25/9/2014 (Thurs), from 9am to 3pm
• Ongoing pre-sales at Hospital Sungai Buloh from 22/9/2014 (Mon) to 26/9/2014(Fri)
• On the day of the carnival itself at a booth near the entrance

Coupons are priced at RM10 per booklet, which can be used on the day of the carnival to purchase food, drinks, play games etc.

All proceeds from the sales of coupons will be donated to the orphanage directly. The carnival is truly a meaningful event, which will also be great fun for all members of the public. Therefore, we sincerely hope that you will take the time off to attend this event!

For further information, please PM or email projecthappiness.tusom@hotmail.com ! Thank you!

Siddharthan Care Center
32, Jalan SS3/46
47300 Petaling Jaya,

http://www.siddharthancarecentre.org/

It's run by Mr Manimaran.

H/P:019-314 8533 , 016-230 9663

I used to download movies to burn on CDs for the kids there, haven't
gone there for some time. Bought them a DVD player.

One of the kids, a girl, was really happy with the ''Neverending Story''
which I burned for her, and said she watched it five times.

It seems the place was originally run by a shipping firm in Port Klang,
which ran into financial straits.

Mr Mani was one of employees there who offered to take over the place.

The last I heard, he was running into debt with the landlord, and owed
him quite a number of months of rental, at some RM 4,000 a month.

There's one more here.

http://www.hati.my/children/orphancare/

This is a branch of the Taman Megah disabled kid's home.

Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-kanak Cacat
31 Jalan SS 3/39, Petaling Jaya.

Here is their caretaker's hp : Ravi, 016-949 9270, but I 'm not
sure if he is still working there.

I think Rumah Kasih is in Jln SS 1/11, just opposite the
Kampong Tunku primary school.

Seems to be relatively new, set up maybe a couple of years ago.

Hellos to the good hearted people of LYN,

A group of friends and I are working on a charity project to help the Siddharthan Care Centre located in PJ, which currently takes in 35 children of various age groups and some who have disability.

Basically, the project involves sales of photograph of children from the Centre to public. All proceeds from the project goes to the Centre to support the kids' daily necessities and maintenance of the Centre (which is burdening for the care taker himself and his family who dedicate full time to the Centre).

Please visit the link http://goo.gl/hPB1Lq for more info about the project.

If it is not possible for you to purchase, you may also help to spread the word to your family members and friends.

Every little help counts.
Thank you.
