I need help,im finding an android htc,i search the forum but no advice...

So,which 1 should i use? Price RM 700 - RM 1400.

HTC Legend or sign up contract with Maxis and grab HTC Desire.

iwant2, you have been following htc products for like, 1 month.

your best current choices are HTC Legend or HTC Desire, as said by the forumer above me.

with that kind of budget, your best bet is htc legend under digi/maxis plan.

better get htc running on android than windows imho... since microsoft is coming out with windows mobile 7... no point getting a windows os based phone now...

with that budget, if you don't wanna get stuck with a plan than get HTC magic but if you're ok with sticking to a contract than get HTC legend from DiGi or HTC Desire from Maxis... all 4 phone are under 1.4k if u get from contract, exclusing htc magic coz htc magic is 1.4k on its own market price...

add another rm99 and u'll get desire from maxis.. + u'll get froyo soon.. + u'll be happier too.. ekekeke

Truth is, my Legend don't use wifi. It's on 3G all the time. Digi package.

The forumer above saying about froyo, htc legend also will get froyo just slower than desire a bit...

well complains about wifi... hmmm so far i'm my 3g all the time and i've seldom used the wifi unless my 3g went down but that only happened once about 1 hour... the wifi is alright... nothing wrong... but the biggest complain for HTC legend and i think for all htc smartphone is the battery life.... if u on 3g 24/7... ur battery is gonna last you a day only...

True, wifi signal is weak compare with other phone. 3 of my friends using it, overall all ok just the wifi signal. Let say ur modem router at living room, then u try connect wifi inside ur room, sometimes got signal, sometimes cant detect. Besides, u sign plan or just buy empty phone? If possible just top up abit go for desire, or else just stick with legend.

Maybe is it caused by the aluminum casing? coz i just recalled my signal also very weak... i mean the line signal not wifi... :S

anyway, you guys probably seen my post in recommendation topic~ =P I kinda decided to get Legend/Desire under Maxis just that I am worry about the plan, you see, I have budget limit like iwant2, so going to a contract might be a better choice? But, is Maxis 500mb package a bit too little? I dun usually online using 3g, i have wifi at home and at Uni, so, unless I am really out and have no wifi, I will use 3g. And my usage is normally web browsing, blogs, IM or news, sometimes picture heavy website. I doubt i will stream video or music with my phone.

So, do you guys think 500mb is a ok for me? I am worried coz I've heard lotsa case that Maxis charges on 3g is expensive ><""

is there any android phone which is good enough for browsing? I mean, I don't need the super highend phone, I just want something that is equivalent/better to/than my HTC Kaiser~ Is Hero up to the job?

For you case, if you plan to get Legend it is better to get it from Digi. Their data package is unlimited (but cap speed after 3gig) for RM68. For now, there's no news from Digi if they gonna roll out Desire.

In terms of usage, even 3gig wasn't enough for me.

Ur 1st question about 500MB
If u said u will be having wifi at home and uni... you don't need 3g unless u're like me whereby u are connected to facebook or email 24/7 even while driving... but 500MB is enough to browse MOBILE sites with LESS images... take for example, one page of mobile site is 50kb but a full blast facebook is almost 1MB.... therefore if u load the full facebook, u could load it around 500 times each month...

So 500MB maybe is only enough to sync ur email and use facebook application to do facebooking....

But i suggest getting digi legend? Its unlimited internet access for RM68 a month and if ur bill is over RM100, u'll get 25% discount and if its over 200 its free...

ur 2nd question about 3g usage expensive
This is confirm sure 100% 10000% expensive... i've used my mom 3g service a while back because i though the DiGi RM5 internet usage a day applies to prepaid and postpaid but its only for prepaid, i manage to used RM300+ in 2 hours.

ur 3rd question about which htc phone is good
Basically all android phone is the same? I've a HTC magic and HTC Legend... both browsers are actually identical but its good enough to use... moreover u'll have different kinds of browser to download from Market like Dolphin Browser, Opera Mobile and so on...

Yup, Legend is actually the continuation of Hero, so there are some glaring similarities to both, 'cept for some obvious addition to Legend. As for the wifi signal, I guess its probably true but I've no complain because I'm on 3g network all the time. Digi package always is reliable and doesn't cause heart attack to users. Unlike bloodsucking maxis. Even if you took the 500mb plan, you don't have any program that could limit your surfing. Do realise that android phones often sync program such as Gmail, weather, facebook updates without you noticing. So, data usage is being downloaded even when you're not surfing, unless of course you disable the network connection manually. Remember than once you pass that 500mb limit, a meager 10mb extra data would cost you RM100. That's when you realise you've been had by maxis clever tactics.

lol Gorgan,its ok. For me,i dun take digi package coz i got wifi signal at home,usually wifi is everywhere now ,its fine with me.But Wifi signal is low?aww mann..but i think its ok.Im going for Legend SOON : )

You are right, actually I like digi smart plan better than maxis data plan. The issue is that most of my friends I sms with are from Maxis... =3= Well, anyway, thanks for replying and what comes after this is for me to worry~ hahah~ now let's see what I need to sacrifice to get this Legend phone everyone is talking about~ =P
