Don't really agree with the above statement, but beauty is always dependant on the beholder.

The only thing for me that would make the E72 perfect was if it came with the E71 keyboard, and a higher res screen.

Higher resolution on a smaller screen does not necessarily mean everything goes smaller. What is more important is that everything gets sharper. Take a look at BB 9700's screen, and ask around.

I've own both, and the Bold wins hands down in terms of screen quality. Maybe its the fact that I'm half blind without my glasses or contacts, but the screen resolution was something that has been bugging me ever since E72 was released.

the metalic overall is kind of unique too..somehow it makes it look more classy and "metallic"

Which is why I don't buy black E72. All black, and then BAM! Silver back cover?

QUOTE(bizness @ Jan 25 2011, 02:32 PM)
Guys I just realized that there is 3 small dead pixels on my Nokia E72 Zitron set..I recently bought it 2 days back from e_trade_pj..I asked e_trade_pj for a new replacement set but he say his supplier does not allow..Kindda dissapointed here as I just bought it 2 days back and there is already 3 dead pixels and therefore I cant get a new replacement set..I called Nokia Center and they say it will take 3-4 days to fix the LCD..I really dont want to send it for repair..Can I fight on getting a new set or I will need to proceed for repair..I've been reading online and I found out that less than 14days old set that has any defect, it is possible to get 1 to 1 exchange..Is it true?..

Thanks smile.gif

I don't think you have much choice but to send it to Nokia for repairs. For one, DOA claims are one of those nasty ones that gets you pushed from supplier to seller without both doing much to help you. In the part of the seller, when he 1 to 1, actually has to always refer to the supplier if they would take back the set. If not, then he's left with a defective set he can't sell.

Depending on size however, sometimes this are the advantages of buying at big chain shops. They won't bat an eyelid with regards to DOA sets. I've personally once caused a shop to open three boxes of MacBook pro because of defective pixels, and did the same with HP a few weeks later. Since then I scared I got dead pixel curse or something.

It is possible to ask for 1-to-1 exchange via Nokia Care Center if the phone is purchased within 7 days smile.gif

But bring proof, the receipt you get when you bought the phone. HTC last time so langsi with me, ask me to bring printed (as in computer printed receipt) before they 1 to 1.

That means my warranty expires on Nov 2011?..Isn't that fair as I got brand new and the warranty should start on the day I bought it..

Anyway thanks smile.gif

No, it doesn't work that way. Most tech companies handle this in two ways.

First, if you come without proof of purchase, most of the time receipt, the warranty would always start from the date stamped on the warranty sticker on the phone. If its Nov 2010 then your warranty, if no proof of purchase dies Nov 2011.

If however, you bring a receipt from an authorized reseller/dealer/whatever, they would honor the receipt and start the warranty from the date of the receipt. It is not unusual for shops to have old stocks or slow seller, sometimes the distributor themselves send out old stocks to reseller. Eg we are almost at the end of Jan, but Hello Station outlets still sell N8 stamped for Dec 2010.

What constitutes an acceptable receipt however is another thing.

I know it's unfair but the person who sold you the phone switched it on before he sold it to you hence your first power on equals to the date of purchase and equals to the start of your warranty smile.gif

As far as I know, this only applies to Iphones and Mac products. The products call home during activation.

Get the latest beta Nokia Email client, should be ok.

Anyway, if miss answering an email within 2 second of receiving it is going to kill you, you would have used a BlackBerry already.
