but the camera and screen quality is really worse... nowadays 2mp/3.2mp camera and 64k color is not acceptable!

and the games on bb is not much.. this is the cons of bb, entertainment..

that's what makes me get e72..

for people who did not rely much on mail, i think e72 is better... not everyone can afford bb.. so not all people u can contact by bbm/ym by all day.. it is a waste.. the normal messages would be better..

if u want to use internet/social networking with small screen phone like bb/e72 all days, of course it will hurt ur eyes.. so, the solution is normal pc with bigger screen..

and i'm not being fanboy here, just to voice out my thought..

What I like from BB9700:
1. Screen. Clear and fine, simply superb.
2. Optical pad miles ahead from nokia. Sensitive and easy to use. It should be the industry gold std.
3. Ergonomic, slightly thicker but lighter than E72, easier at the hand and not easy to slip off.
4. Software is rock solid and secure.
5. Looong battery life so far.
6. Browser speed is surprisingly good and has improved. Now is a joy to use. It renders flash page better than E72
7. Camera software is better then e72 but e72 quality is better

What I dislike from BB9700 are:
nothing so far

What I like from E72
1. GPS map installed from mem card
2. A wealth of S60 applications available
3. Nice keyboard
4. Flashlight
5. Ability to remote lock the phone via sms. BB should make this as a std too.

What I dislike from E72
1. Often hang and need reboot,
2. Camera hard to focus >_>
3. Optical pad sucks compare to BB
4. Slim but heavy. Not so good ergonomic, easy to slip off.

I have tried both Nokia E72 and Blackberry Bold 2. I decided to go for E72. Reasons :
1) Functionality - has more features
2) Can connect to 'push' email, chat etc even with a WiFi connection.
3) Even if I subscribe to data plan, it is cheaper than BIS
4) Nokia E72 is about RM350 cheaper than Bold 2

I still like Blackberry for some reasons, as below :
1) stable
2) excellent messenger - with IM, Twitter, Facebook etc (E72 has too but chat disconnects often and Twitter/Facebook sucks to the max).

As for multitasking, personally, i do no like multitasking, fearing that i might forget to finish a task i was doing before. I have this habit of finishing one thing before i start the next thing...so this is prolly why i'm slow at doing things (like clearing my room takes me more than 1 month LOL). So i think the ram issue won't be a prob, hehe.

Anyways, anyone knows a decent price i should be paying for this phone? I want to buy an original set. Btw, original refers to avaxx or zitron right?

Yup, original refers to Zitron or Avaxx. Arista is also ori @ authorised dealer but I believe they don't distribute Nokia E72.

Price should be about RM1010 to RM1060 for ori set. White colour is about RM70 - RM100 more expensive.

i thinks nokia made it a little bit heavy, because u will feel its 'solidity' when u hold it with ur hand..

and also e72 is cheaper than bb...

What if nokia improve E72 with added feature such as touch screen with qwerty keypad. Then there is no need for navi key...it will be much easier to play with E72....

touchscreen does not suit e72..

small screen like e72 are not made for touchscreen...

Ah i see. I was initially curious as to why Nokia had 3 official distributors whereas Samsung had one, which was FMG (which now i heard it's no longer in operation). So i used to think that Nokia could only have one and only one distributor. Then i figured out that probably it was cos Nokia didn't want only one distributor to monopolise the market.

I have another question actually: What's the difference between the Nagivation and Standard set? And why is White Edition pricier?

Oh! Thanks for the link. I checked Nokia too some time ago but missed out that part. It seems that White Edition has got only one item extra: Bluetooth gadget.

However, it mentioned only the White Edition set but didn't mention anything about the Navigation set.

Apart for call & SMS i bought E72 for the GPS and camera and it is thin!! really save my ass everyday! btw i do use the email function, just to notify me new mail, wont be reading mail from small screen, my eyes will pop out! but since i deleted the email, now i cannot reset the same email.. dang! if only someone could help me.. BB? i don't need most of it functionality..
