I'm also have that kind of experience.. being gunner on chopper... suddenly the pilot bail out. And the chopper crash in off map area... all killed... what a jackass pilot.. wth using it as he was lazy to walk? and simply dun care about his teammates inside.

those gustavers really pain in ass....so what I do is switch to recon mode and snipe them from very2 far away.
