Hi,

I just got a second hand Iswara LMST (registered 2007). I have a few question.

1) The fuel gauge/meter with two bar left and the fuel empty warning light is already blinking. Is this normal? If so how far can it go before the car run out of fuel.

2) Does anyone know if it is possible to download the Owner's Manual?

Thanks.

Regards.

I need help for all the Sifu here. I plan to do DIY changing engine oil and oil filter. I need advise on where to place the Jack stand when the car is lifted with a 2ton hydraulic jack. Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks. With 2 Jack Stand, I am still not that clear where the horizontal bone is? Would you be kind enought to describe? In both case where should I place the hydraulic jack, my initial thinking was to jack it under the the tow hook.

Thanks.

Hi,

I need the advice of all the sifu here. I have a 3 year old iswara and when accelerating (changing from 3rd to 4th gear and the tachometer reaching 2500RPM beyond that there is no sound) and up a slight slope there is a high pitched sound. It is definately coming from the engine compartment. There is no sound when the car is idle and I ram the accelerator from 1000RPM to 3000RPM. I have tried with the Radio on or off and also aircon on or off but the sound will come on around 2500RPM and goes off beyond that.

What would be the problem? Thanks.

Regards.

Hi,

Want to ask sifu here. How easy is it to access the Iswara LMST air con blower and the cooling coil? I am thinking of doing DIY cleaning. Thanks.

Hi All,

I currently driving the proton saga Iswara 2007( orange color model).

3 weeks ago, i had some issue when i drove my car. It jerks terribly when it hits 3000rpm at 2nd gear. Since its near the time for me to do my periodic maintenance, i send for maintenance. During the check up, the mechanics found out that its time to change my spark plug as it's filled with carbons deposit. At the same time, i also change the cable for the spark plug and did some maintenance here and there.

Then the mechanic asked me, what petrol i'm using. I told him I'm using Ron95 with some adjustment to the timing. He told me that my car, according to the manual, it is suppose to run on Ron 97. And when i change to Ron 95, the maintenance cost over long period will be higher as the Ron95 will effects my car performance and conditions (i think he is talking about Ron 95 is not good for the engine etc..).

He suggested i changed back to Ron 97. I did do that but the petrol price recently jsut hike up again.

So, my question is that, 1)Does using ron 95 really that bad for the engine?

I'm not sure how to compare the cost wise for different grade of fuel but basicly, 2) is it true when he says the maintenance cost will be higher and its much more worthwhile to pay for the higher fuel cost for Ron97?

Appreciate your comments.

THanks. I've read the website earlier when i changed to ron 95 last year. It just that since i got this problem and the comments from the mechanics, i wasn't so convinced with the article from paultan anymore for this matter.

That's why i'm wish to gather some advice/comments from anyone else here whether they had experienced this during their maintenance and can advice based on their experience.

Hi,

FYI, I have the Iswara year 2007 and using RON95 without problems. Yes, Iswara has an old generation engine but it is not that old as not suitable to be using RON95. What you need to to have the engine properly tuned that's all.

Regards.
