Here's the story, I have a LCD with only one HDMI input. I bought a 3in 1 out switcher (not splitter) so that i can use my HDD media player as well without plugging in the cable in and out.

Problem is that the Astro input doesn't allow audio through when using the switcher. It passes audio just fine bypassing the switcher. I changed the switcher to a new unit, same results. I used another brand switcher but with same results also. The funny thing is that audio passes through just fine with my media player.

I am perplexed as the there is nothing wrong with my astro, my cables, my tv or my switcher! What can it be then?

Any help sifus? blush.gif

I don't know whether this can help your case or not, but have you power cycle your byond box?

what i mean is the hdmi cable from astro maybe not compatible with the switcher or the hdmi cable that connected to tv from the switcher.

well..the cables are fine coz i tried direct from astro to tv is fine (audio and video available) only when pass thru the box, there is only video. But the funny thing is that when using my media player, the box allows pass through of both video and audio!

Try a different HDMI input on the switcher. For example, if it is currently in Input #1, try #2 or #3.

unplug HDMI socket from your media payer, and plug that same HDMI socket into byond, see if this can get it to work

by the way check also if you are muting your byond audio

good suggestion...i fixed the switcher again...making sure tat Astro was at input 1, media player input 5. checked, Astro got video but no audio. Media player has both video and audio. uplugged HDMI at media player swapped with Astro HDMI.
same results, got video no audio. sad.gif

i can be muting my B.yond audio coz it is fine if direct plug to tv. both video and audio present.

I think i will have to return the Switcher tmr. Can it be becoz the swithcher is only 1.3?
