Samsung HD204UI (model number), released at September.

Just bought 1 on Tuesday, very nice temperature, compare to the F3EG is about 1~2C lower, even full format and long hours file transfer still able to retain 2~3C higher only, very recommended.

thats the 5400rpm one(ecogreen) doh.gif

just wanna ask a noob question here..
i have 1TB hdd and just make 1 partition, when i explore the partition and then run a file, there are some lag around 1-2 sec..is this normal?
do i need to make more partition to prevent the lagg?
thx ya..
*
how about try using hdtech error scan, find out if there are some bad sector, usually unaccessible sector takes more than a minute wait and i/o error prompt will come out.
another question: what type of file do you want to run anyway..maybe lag due to application process.
It is more advisable for using 1 partition/drive actually as only one file allocation table or MFT been run at one time. But with today hard disk speed, this is wont be noticeable at all..
My best bet to reduce the lag will be to turn off any swap file or virtual memory coz they taking hard disk bandwidth all the time as virtual ram...(A thing you must do if your ram are massive)

C2D E7200 2.5ghz
2gb ram
1x500gb(2partition) OS hdd
2x1tb(both 1 partition)

i'm heavy downloader, so IDM is always operating. i only use nod32 av which i think not really heavy to my system.

And i just noticed my 500gb have no buffer..so i think thats the problem of my 1tb got some lag when to access..
plz refer pic attached.

seagete 7200.11, its really problematic hard disk, but luck for you didnt get any bad sector, i think mine already 0.1% error rate doh.gif, can rma, but malas whistling.gif for your f3, 3mb/s for sequential data or single data, if single , its really a problem, even my problematic 7200.11 can vroom more than 80mb/s hmm.gif

Hey, I just installed a new HDD. My Casing don't have enough place to screw in an additional drive..........

so I just place the old HDD below the CD-ROM. Problem is the HDD is too small to be screwed so I just placed in there.

Is it okay?  blink.gif Thanks smile.gif

just put on the bottom side of the cpu, u dont want the hdd to drop, will you? hmm.gif

Hey guys, I just got a WD MyBook Essential to pair with my XPS 15's USB 3.0 capability...

until I plugged it in and am using it right now.

Peak transfer speed is only 28MB/second? What is this? Anyone care to explain? My internal drive is a 500GB 7200rpm one.
