what r yur guys opinion on the new Samsung 2.5" 640G notebooks HDDs?
Is it a reliable brand? Other than one forummer here who used his more than 2 years, theres not anymore comments on Samsung on this thread. Feedback appreciated.

I have been using external drive Imation Apollo which uses Samsung 500Gb internally and has had warranty replacement twice because of hardisk block errors over a period of 1 year.
And the failures comes without any warning or indications of impeding failures.
The latest warranty claim has been replaced with Imation Apollo II which uses a Japanese (either Toshiba or Hitachi) drive. I hope it does not fail again.
So although the current prices for Samsung disk are very tempting I still have a phobia about Samsung harddisk products.

Not that complicated lah:

I have NAS Rig#1 (E7400 on Asus mATX mobo) with 12TB storage (5x2TB WD Green in SPAN mode, 2x1TB WD Green in SPAN mode) running Vista HP (32bit) at current time. The Asus mATX mobo has 5 SATA ports only, and I am currently using a PCIe x1 SATA controller with 2 SATA ports.
For the SPAN mode, is it NTFS volume based? If one disk fails, will the rest still works?
