HD makers have not been making good profit for many years. That is why they had reduced the warranty from 5 years to 3 years some years ago.

No point for Seagate to increase any production. And I also don't believe they do have any extra free/unused capacity to produce any extra.

Now is a good time to make higher profit on each hard disk.
