Request for an advanced replacement. They will charge your account. Send you a new hdd. Use the same box to send back your defective hdd. They will refund your credit card after receiving your defective hdd.

Few days ago,
I planning to RMA my WD studio so I called them regarding the advanced replacement.
They said is not available for malaysia. Only available at United States. hmm.gif
Anyway, is there any way beside using postage to WD Singapore because I checked the postage price will cost me more than RM80
due to I'm not on the door-to-door replacement coverage. sad.gif
btw, should I RMA my WD Green HDD 1TB because got one bad sector?

I RMA-ed my WD Black thru the retailer who sold me. Took about 2 to 3 weeks for a replacement.

You should RMA even if its one bad sector.
*
I bought both hard disk from All It..
They only cover 1year.. If I wanna send by back them will cost me RM 30/HDD sad.gif
Is there any WD center, so I can walk in and RMA smile.gif
Btw, RMA will replace you a new hard disk or refurbish?

Woot.. I just called WD RMA department.
They said they are moving from singapore to malaysia next week.
Ask me to wait for next week and proceed the RMA by walk in to their service center. rclxm9.gif

rclxm9.gif good news !!

so we dont need to paid for 7.5USD for the bloody courier fees!
*
Sometime it's worth to pay that small amount of fee..
When you travel there will cost your petrol money, tol money, and time consuming..
I willing to pay the fee but unfortunately my area is not under the coverage service sad.gif

Other than the flood shutting down the hdd manufacturers, Nidec is submerged too
Nidec supplies HDD motors and has 70% - 80% share of the HDD market

It's reads as if all of Nidec's operations is in Thailand, I'm not very sure about that, but if that is true, then you can buy HDD now, sell off 2 months later and make huge profit
*
Waa.. I think some reseller will keep some stock after the price hike only they sell sad.gif

Today a sad thing happened to me..my 1tb WD10EARS died, bringing along with it all my RAWs..Cannot detect at bios, but can hear/feel the HDD spinning. Any ideas how to fix this?

Also, would it be better to take 2TB over 1TB? If yes, do please recommend me some models. For OS/software/storage.

TQ.
*
Try putting in other pc.. is that OS hard disk?
If yes, I suspect the os corrupted.
It happen to me once and I thought is HDD died then bought new one.
After a month, planning to try again it work again by just reformat it doh.gif
