At the fastest, about 57 minutes to transfer 100 GB and 5 minutes to transfer 8 GB.

Is the salesman stupid? Or does he try to cheat? HD153UI is F2EG.
Well actually it's almost the same, but performance and price wise, F3EG is higher.

It's recommended to choose both the same model for RAID purpose, and AFAIK WD Green is not good for RAID, as it'll reduce the life cycle of the read/write head sit.
If you really want speed from WD, get the Black Edition instead, but most of us here would surely recommend Samsung F3 1TB, get 2 or the 500GB version (not sure if it's F3 or F2) and RAID0 them, cheaper, and way faster. thumbup.gif

Don't think so. Maybe you have a lot processes running? Disable unwanted processes.

I have two hdd and one external plugged to the pc all the time.

Lol. Don't need to change to quad core la. My Pentium D still handles 3 hard disks well.

Try troubleshoot the sata cable first. Plug out and replug/ purchase new sata cable. And download the hard disk troubleshoot tool from the manufacturer's website and run a full scan for bad sectors.
