Same tech as the HD103SJ?

Actually I'm looking forward to some thing like the Spinpoint F3 1Tb but in 2TB flavor, any Sifu can recommend?

Also which external HDD have shock proof and capacity at or above 500GB? Brand and cost?

No at the moment, 1.5TB and 2TB currently only available in EG (Eco Green) model, and it's running at 5,400rpm.
If you want speed and capacity of 2TB, take Western Digital Carviar Black 2TB.

If it is WD, just submit RMA at WDC.COM , but be careful to assemble back the hard disk and case.

RAID-0 is dangerous to begins with, it does offers almost double the burst speed though

yup very dangerous because its RAID-0 2TB, but considering the performance of f3 hdds would like to try tongue.gif.

If RAID-0 for much smaller harddisk is safer or put it this way, RAID 0+1. Mirror + striping

most hard disk consume less than 10W (including WD Black), so it doesn't run hot.

it think 10 watt for power rating. how about temperature?

normally in our country and environment, operating temperature could kill the HDD.

From WD website:

QUOTE
Operating 32° F to 140° F

In my case, harddisk load can be around 45 degrees.
