I would like to get advice on whether we can use our Desire as a Wifi modem (using the Maxis 3G internet as the Internet Gateway)? Meaning I could connect my laptop to internet via Wifi from the phone.

I have tried today and the Internet Sharing option is not "clickable" - it was shaded grey and I have tried many combination but was unsuccessful. Previously using Nokia N79, I installed an app Joikuspot for this function.

I just found out that the web browser Skyfire (beta version) works better than almost any browser because it support flash!!!! without the need of Froyo.
Running video in youtube and other website is a breeze, especially if you have wifi connection. A 11.39 minute video was loaded within seconds!

Just go to the marketplace to download this browser.

Maybe some of you have known this already but it rocks...now I am thinking of uninstalling the dolphin browser that I am using.

Err...not sure, basically you can use your PC to google this and go to the official website. There will be a barcode scanner for you to go directly to the market place for download. Hope that helps.

I have a question about the Desire. My friend send me an SMS which have an Vcard attachment. I think it is those sending the contact via sms from her Nokia phone. When I receive the sms, I click on the vcard and it gives me a message that the vcard has been imported successfully.

However, I cannot find the contact via PEOPLE, in fact I do not know how to actually "export" that vcard to a contact. I used to be able to just save it as another contact when I use a Nokia phone but I am new to this Android ...need help

The battery of the Desire is really the major concern right now.

- I fully charged my Desire before going to sleep, by the time I wake up it only left with 70%. (I have turn off everything but left the data 2G/3G on)
- Continuous using browser, game and email checking (push email) - my Desire can only last 3 hours max
- With just data on, it drops 2% every 5 minutes - that is putting the phone in standby mode
- Even while charging using the car charger, I put up GPS, Bluetooth and Data - the battery keeps dropping while charging
- I charge 2 times on average on a daily basis

This is how crazy the battery life - something must be done, I am thinking of now getting a spare battery, how much is an original SIS spare battery for Desire?

I just broken the little adapter that connect the original charger to the Desire. Don't ask me how, but that thing just broken into pieces. The car charger still works but the "head" is not connectable without the adapter. Anyone know whether the adapter is sold anywhere?

After months of trying, I have finally found an "interim" GPS application.
I have downloaded and tested and it works! Nevertheless, it is still not as good as Garmin.

The GPS app is Sygic 10. It utilize the Satellite signal and not the data.

In the spirit of sharing, if anybody would like to try out this Sygic GPS app, kindly PM me, I will try to guide you to download and install it to your Desire. Just one condition, you also need to do so and share to as many Desire user as possible - this will create a real sharing community amongst our Desire users.

You may just google Sygic and read about the GPS app before deciding whether you want to use it. It is definitely better than the Google (Brut) and most importantly, it is in English.
