QUOTE(ntc3freak @ Jul 22 2010, 05:11 PM) Guys, what ROM do u recommend for me to try? I wanted to try lee droid rom but some of u said it drains battery. Soo should I try it anyway? try the rooted official rom ... no wipe needed i even managed to do apps2sd (i think) using the uvocv14 kernel using the 32.37.00.32U_4.06.00.16_2 radio & setcpu to cope with the batt This post has been edited by cruzzmz: Jul 22 2010, 05:35 PM |

QUOTE(LazyJin @ Jul 22 2010, 09:18 PM) Mike - No need to be sorry. We're all thankful for your work! agreed ... maybe need to full wipe ... since mine rebooted 2 times already today ... but then again maybe coz of a2sd or the v14 kernel ... will have to troubleshoot later tomorrowAdded on July 22, 2010, 9:31 pm I'm on the rooted official ROM. Based on feedback on XDA, a lot of the problems are from users who did not do a full wipe, so i suggest doing a full wipe to be safe. Separately, i've used Market Access to get paid apps but It messed up my APN settings (no mobile data), and couldn't browse paid apps. - Needed to re-enter the APN settings, then select "Mobile Network Settings -> Network operators -> select automatically" before it could detect 3G/HSDPA data network. - fix browse paid apps issue by following instructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...17&postcount=51. QUOTE If you guys want to have froyo rom that is more stable than any other froyo roms, try to flash opendesire 2.3. It's not even more stable but you will have longer battery life, unfortunately no sense. If you want to feel sense, you need to install fancy widget and launcherpro. which radio r u using? This post has been edited by cruzzmz: Jul 22 2010, 10:04 PM |

QUOTE(narutokun83 @ Jul 23 2010, 10:43 AM) I'm following maliqu3's guide for rooting the phone using unrevoked, but there is a step i'm quite confused with. Maybe you guys can clarify the situation for me. yup using windows will be a big hassle ... my advise use Ubuntu.I've basically understood all of the step but here: Is there something missing between step 6 and step 7? does it require us to reboot the device after I've installed the drivers from the "android-usb-driver.zip" file? Cause i can't access the phone settings from where i am now (at the Hboot screen). Also in step 11 There is no point during tutorial that it called for the device to be disconnected at all, so why suddenly it requires me to connect my desire and all along its already connected? I hope the sifus here can provide a clearer more precise instruction to root using unrevoked. (Video instruction would help alot !) Sorry for being a noob. |

For screen protector i use a clear one, case epikcase ...
If you are not sure is u have rooted your phone just try installing Titanium Backup ... that app only works on REAL rooted phone only ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733112 I only prefers Swype Keyboard As for partition SD better do the partition after flashing the phone rom, do a complete wipe & wipe cache of SD (Dont like ClockWork that much prefer amonRA better) and yup some rom will take like 5 min more for 1st boot As for me, see my signature ... but thinking of doing a kernel flash again either with modaco one or the xda uvoc v14 one .... Unrevoked is just tricking your device to get su only. If you try to install prog that really need su then u will know that our isn't a full su.
I personally use unrevoked just to flash another rom that has su enabled. To make it really simple just do it on a linux environment |
