hm guys what micro sd are you using?
I remember reading some owner purchased class 6 micro sd. Where dis you guys buy it? yesterday i went lowyat searched up and down, nobody seems to be selling class 6....

I bought it from the garage sales here for rm90 only (sandisk 8gb class 6). Went lowyat and searched before and there was only one shop selling class 6 8gb for rm155 shakehead.gif

Guys, I have recently rooted my phone and would like to unroot it and flash the stock ROM. I have the bootloader version of .80 but the RUU_Bravo_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.19.707.7_Radio_32.36.00.2 8U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126179_signed.exe is for bootloader of version 0.75 only. That explains why I kept on getting error 140 when trying to run the RUU.

Are there any ways that I can apply the RUU so that I can unroot and flash back the stock ROM? Or should I just run the RUU for 1.21.405.2 (bootloader 0.80)?

PS* I rooted it and flashed Pays-Rom Desire with Sense. The Rom is great but the battery finishes in just hours after hours of heavy usage! That's why I want to flash back to the stock rom.

When I first bought it and use sandisk class 6 8gb , the transfer speed was fast (approximately 10-11mb/s)

However, after partitioning the sd card for old school a2sd to function, the transfer speed falls to approximately 1-5mb/sec. (sometimes 800kb/sec!)
b
I've done this quite many times and confirm about it.

When you reformat the sd card without partitioning, you'll get transfer speed of 10-11mb/sec again.

So, I think a class 6 sd card isn't necessary? Unless a class 2 sd card will have even lower than 800kb/sec after partitioning for a2sd lol. Or unless you plan to use the froyo a2sd instead of the old a2sd. tongue.gif

to have the a2sd feature in root we need to partition our sd is it?
*
Most custom ROMs from XDA (I'm using LeeDroid v1.4) comes with a2sd+ by default. So all you need to do is enter recovery and partition sd card(0 swap, 512/1024ext, fat32 rest). Then upgrade it to ext3. The old school a2sd+ will not function unless you have ext3 partition. However, if you do not partition your sd card, you can still use the Froyo native a2sd.

I personally feel that old school a2sd is much better. Installed tons of apps and still got lots of internal memory! tongue.gif

PS: If you're using Froyo native a2sd, not all the apps can be moved to sd card unless they are made possible by the apps devs.

I'm using LeeDroid 1.4b with Black Expresso Mod, very stable and nice biggrin.gif but the battery drain is fast wink.gif

the battery seems normal to me..  does it drain very fast to u?

Btw, the batteryspan could also be shorter if u overclock it up to 1.2ghz.. but u feel the breeze indeed xD. On normal ordinary custom roms with stock kernel, there is not quite difference unless that rom is highly optimized but nothing is up to that far good i guess yet. But custom rom does give u a better feeling of the rom compared to stock. It is also easy to backup application data and etc with the help of titanium backup. Flashing rom in the end would end up turning into a hobby and perhaps even dangerous, a habit  whistling.gif
*
Yea I'm on LeeDroid and the battery drain seems to be fast. With HTC Sense Live Wallpaper and Wifi on (With Screen On and phone left idle), battery falls by 3% in just 8minutes. Not to mention if I use it for browsing, some apps or downloads from market, the battery drain will even be faster lol.
I've recently got this new habit of flashing ROMs several times (maybe 3-5 in a day), I know it's not good. Got to gradually stop it tongue.gif

i just flashed with 1.4c as well. and yes.. the battery life sucks big time.. i was surfing online for 30 mins and it drops like 20% lol... since u flash a lot of roms, do let us know which one better though.. haha..

btw, turning off the live wallpaper to normal ones might save u some battery life.
*
I've tried almost all the custom froyo+sense available in XDA to test the battery life. All of them have similar battery drain shakehead.gif

I'm using ShakeThemAll Live Wallpaper with one of the Gelaskin wallpapers. Ordered the gelaskin yesterday and will be receiving in few weeks time. Will post some screenshots here soon.

I really like the BlackExpresso Mod. It makes the phone interface looks so sleek drool.gif
BTW LeeDroid bootanimation is ugly. The stock Nexus one bootanimation is a lot nicer.

Flashing 1.4c now. icon_idea.gif

bro may i know where u download the gelaskin wallpapers? and how do order the gelaskin? via LYN or u order via others?
*
I ordered directly from this website http://www.gelaskins.com/store/skins/phones/HTC_Desire. Buy 3 free 1 lol. Ordered 2 desire and 2 iphone wallpapers from there.
You can just select any skin you like and download directly from there.

I'm using blue willow gelaskin with geelong football club droid skin for shakethemall. Very nice but don't know how to take screenshot to share here. tongue.gif

how to apply the skin? is it some sort of casing or sticker?
*
It's like a sticker but it won't lose it stickiness even numerous times of sticking/removing.
You can search it youtube on how to apply it but most of the videos are showing gelaskin for iphones only.

*
The wallpapers can be downloaded for free. I downloaded all of them drool.gif
I bought 4 skins (buy 3 free 1). About 51 USD including shipping fee.

I recommend this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732246. Just flashed it today.

This ROM has better battery life than any other froyo+sense available in XDA. If u search 'battery' in that thread, you can see all the positive reviews regarding the battery life.

I ran a test and this ROM has a higher quadrant score than LeeDroid ROM. I got 1280 on LeeDroid while 1382 on NeoPhyTe ROM!

i repartition my sd card b4 flashing this rom and now a2sd not working after flashed.. any idea? been fixing this for whole day still no use.. check in quick system info the a2sd just showing no information..  doh.gif

@pluginbaby
The sense apps are still there. There are 2 galleries available, one HTC one 3D Nexus One gallery. HTC Mail widget is still there.

@menghua84
Did you have ex3 partition?
Normally I flash new ROM using this way:
1)Full Wipe
2)Partition SD (0 swap, 512ext, the rest fat32, upgrade ext2>ext3)
3)Nandroid backup
4)Put ROM in SD Card (USB-MS Toggle)
5)Flash ROM from zip

Hi Ben,

i did almost the same thing also. since it's still not working, i tested flashing with djdroid instead and a2sd is working!!?? then i flashed back to the neophyte (wiped everything of course), quick system info shows no info again.. kinda strange..
*
QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Jul 24 2010, 12:56 PM)
i formatted my whole SD card before using neophyte.. then i repartitioned it using ROM manager.. seems to be working fine for now.. all apps installation work well and fine..

btw, i still dont know how to partition above 512.. im only using rom manager btw.. any tips? i see ben r using 1024
*
Weird, no idea what's causing that problem but mine is working fine.

Nop, I'm not using 1024ext3, only 512. I'm using AmonRA FakeFlash and you can partition 1024 using that. Or maybe you can try partitioning using the stock HTC recovery if you want.

After second day of using NeoPhyte ROM, the battery drain might still be there, it's still better than other froyo+sense I've tried though.

i haven't tried on the car charger thing yet since i can't find a good navigation software. looking for papago or ndrive. battery wise not sure yet.. but i do notice there's a lot of diff if i turn off the mobile internet instead of turning it on 24 hours.. haha.. that's for sure for all roms though..

1400 quadrant score is very good!!  rclxms.gif
*
Yea I can't find a good GPS software too. Tried Papago x5 but the map is awful. Can hardly search for any address or even 'KLCC' lol. Maybe I don't know how to use it or it's just that lame. I miss using garmin on my HTC Diamond before this tongue.gif
Got to wait for garmin to release it for android.

Lol, the highest I could get was 1383.
