Getting a Desire soon coming weekend. A quick question - can it receive Chinese sms? and also easy to write a Chinese sms with it? Once in a while, especially during Festive occasion, I will receive some nice smses.

How about MMS, any known issue receiving or sending them? I am on Maxis.

personally I dun like silicon case as it will stick inside your pant's pocket, hard to take it out. RM30 a piece is a bit pricey too.

I notice quite a handful Desire owner is eyeing the Class-10 microSD card. Is there a real difference for the different class - 4, 6 or 10 in a Desire? I thought only high megapixel DSLR with fast continuing shooting need a fast SD card? Is there a comparison test published on the web, especially for Froyo as the apps will be running from the microSD card?

Getting one tomorrow. So may grab a Class-4 8/16GB card to accompany it. If the difference is noticeable for Class-10, then I might hold the purchase of the microSD card until Froyo is official released by HTC for Desire and when Class-10 is more common and thus cheaper.

Just got my Desire today. Fall in love with it the second I hold it in my hand when I tested it at the shop - solid and sleek. Just reach home, haven't set it up yet.

if buy from forum for Telco set is about S$730-750. Buy at shop is S$760 original HTC set with Spore warranty. But the warranty is 1 year compared to 2 years by SIS in Msia.

i think all the car chargers are made in China now. Anyway, I heard once from a phone battery seller that charging in car is not advisable coz the voltage in the car battery will fluctuate very much so will spoilt the battery. He commented charging with computer USB port is the best as the electricity supply is stable. I think it makes sense coz the power supply in car may fluctuate when we rev the engine, although it might not be significant to other car appliance but may be significant to a phone.

I also tested to login M2U. No problem but no transaction done so far. On the other hand, I tried to login UOB internet banking but fail.

for me, i think it is pointless to play serious game on such a small screen. I only play games on my 24" full-HD monitor, nothing less. Of course i do play small games like Bejewels in my phone (my previous Palm Treo 680) while i am in a short waiting for anything but I think these games do not require high end hardware. I tried Alphard 5 racing with my Desire - the game is smooth but can't really appreciate the game in such a small screen. It is more for showoff to friends who do not own an Android.

So Desire is definitely the best buy at the moment (until Evo-specs HTC come out, of course).

EDIT: Has anyone seen the rumour HD3 specs with wimo? If the same specs come with Android, it will be a smartphone killer.

Desire is using MicroSD card not normal size SD or SDHC card. IIRC, the written spec of Desire is micro SD 2.0 supported, I think it means microSDHC, correct me if i m wrong.

congrats on your new toy! I was stunned by its solid performance and good look when I got it 2 weeks ago. It is light years ahead of my aging Treo 680 that been replaced.

wow... dun tempt us further... else sure cannot tahan and go root it. btw, the rom you are using have Sense UI? I dun think I can live without Sense UI now.

I will see in the next week or two whether there is solid info about the release of official Froyo from HTC. If still no news, most likely I will go in the dark path too.

mine has no problem - blue, orange, green, etc according to type of notification.
