QUOTE(Blast_Cyrus @ Jul 17 2010, 12:25 AM) Yes I have tried it, done in few minutes. But you will need to install custom rom after that and you gained superuser after that. Using devillain rom now how's devilain rom for ya? so many roms baking at xda. and alot of them still developing to a more stable version. so i'm still reluctant to root.

QUOTE(jujx @ Jul 19 2010, 01:41 PM) OTA updates from Official source is not as good as custom rom that BASED on official OTA. So don't count on it. as long as the custom roms are based on the official OTA. At the moment, the ones available in xda/modaco are still based on the official leaked/test rom so it might be buggy.

QUOTE(zamanjaafar @ Jul 27 2010, 01:19 PM) for those of u flashing LeeDroid, are you using Amon Ra or clockworkmod's Recovery? clockworkmod via unervoked is the easiest way.

Here is short guide Rooted using the unrEVOked one click root. Then installed Titanium Backup and backed up everything (including backing up SD Card manually!! - copy from card reader into your hdd) Downloaded ROM Manager from the Market to create partition. Went to recovery via unrEvoked and did a nandroid backup. Wipe everything, then flashed 1.6 of LeeDroid and the radio update. Once it had booted just setup my gmail account so I could access the market, downloaded Titanium Backup again and restored everything. Another reboot and everything is back to pretty much as it was before - think I just had to sort out a few widgets. Please move the apps that you use as widgets on your home screens into the phone storage.

QUOTE(akachester @ Jul 27 2010, 02:33 PM) Question, could you list down step by step on how to create the partition? As in what partition is needed and whats the space? For Titanium Backup, i tried it just now and it never worked. I rooted with Unrevoked and started Titanium Backup, it did not detect that i am rooted, thus, not allowing me to backup. I did nothing. I just basically wanted to format the SD card by going to Settings -> SD & Storage -> Unmount SD -> Format SD. Then, it brings me to a page that says "Erase Everything" and it is stuck there. When you click on anything else, it just says "Force Close" or "Wait". And if you force close, the card will be corrupted. Need to format using PC. I tried that multiple times though. Simple, just downdload ROM Manager after you have rooted with unrEVOked. You will have the clockworkmod recovery installed. Then when you start the ROM Manager it'll ask you to download clockworkmod, not sure why. But they'll ask you. Once you have done that, then go to Partition SD Card and choose Swap 0 and size 512mb and it'll create the partition. Do no format via other method as the ROM Manager will do everything for you.

QUOTE(akachester @ Jul 27 2010, 02:40 PM) So, the partition is basically needed for? Whats the problem if we dont have the partition? Ah, i didn't know that. Not sure whethear mine come with non-native A2sd or not though. I already formatted it. Probably i should reboot in recovery and format the SD again. Thanks. most ROM should have it, the native apps2sd is... crap the one that comes with FroYo. If you don't do the ext3 partition and when you install a ROM with this feature, you'll end up on a boot loop!

QUOTE(Pennywise @ Jul 27 2010, 03:08 PM) Question about Titanium Backup. It backup system data including contacts, calendars, etc. Does it include application installed and application settings? E.g. Swype? What if I want to reflash my ROM to a newer version when LeeDroid releases another next week? What are the steps? My Desire has been rooted, so we can skip the rooting process. Does that mean it only leaves the Flashing of ROM part? Prior to flashing, I'd probably lose everything in the phone memory and sdcard, hence this is where Titanium Backup comes in, is it? If you're already on LeeDroid and you want to flash a newer version, no wipe is neccesary. Just flash over as an update only.

QUOTE(akachester @ Jul 27 2010, 03:23 PM) Great! Exactly what i wanted to hear Gonna enjoy installing lots of programs now Btw, flash for websites are auto enabled right for Froyo? I dont need to install anything? becareful when storing all of your apps in SD, the apps that have widgets on your homescreens will not work when you mount your sd on to your computer, on when booting up.

QUOTE(Pennywise @ Jul 27 2010, 03:37 PM) Ok, I've managed to install and use Market Enabler. I am going with T-System Market. It is very nice but if I were to purchase some games like Zenonia (RPG) and Farm Frenzy. I pay the money in 4.99 and 3.00 pounds via Google but it ask for credit card info and Malaysia is not in the list. So, how do I purchase? How about flashing my phone or upgrading or flashing, will I lose the paid apps I bought? Market Enabler have been re-written and renamed to MarketAccess. MarketAccess works better as you can see the paid apps tab. As I understand, the apps will be tied to your gmail acc.
