how's devilain rom for ya? so many roms baking at xda. and alot of them still developing to a more stable version. so i'm still reluctant to root.

as long as the custom roms are based on the official OTA. At the moment, the ones available in xda/modaco are still based on the official leaked/test rom so it might be buggy.

oh alright.. I almost flashed it this afternoon and also root my phone. my phone still on stock.. what does the new kernel will do comparing to current one?

i'll let u know in a bit cause im downloading and ready to flash.. just rooted and partitioned my sd card (via rom manager)

installed! froyo-ed! everything work fine. FB sync works fine on LeeDroid 1.6

anyone on leedroid 1.6? i could only sync 468 contacts from facebook. it skips alot of contacts...

clockworkmod via unervoked is the easiest way.

Here is short guide

Rooted using the unrEVOked one click root. Then installed Titanium Backup and backed up everything (including backing up SD Card manually!! - copy from card reader into your hdd)

Downloaded ROM Manager from the Market to create partition.

Went to recovery via unrEvoked and did a nandroid backup. Wipe everything, then flashed 1.6 of LeeDroid and the radio update.

Once it had booted just setup my gmail account so I could access the market, downloaded Titanium Backup again and restored everything. Another reboot and everything is back to pretty much as it was before - think I just had to sort out a few widgets.

Please move the apps that you use as widgets on your home screens into the phone storage.

Simple, just downdload ROM Manager after you have rooted with unrEVOked. You will have the clockworkmod recovery installed. Then when you start the ROM Manager it'll ask you to download clockworkmod, not sure why. But they'll ask you. Once you have done that, then go to Partition SD Card and choose Swap 0 and size 512mb and it'll create the partition.

Do no format via other method as the ROM Manager will do everything for you.

most ROM should have it, the native apps2sd is... crap the one that comes with FroYo. If you don't do the ext3 partition and when you install a ROM with this feature, you'll end up on a boot loop!

If you're already on LeeDroid and you want to flash a newer version, no wipe is neccesary. Just flash over as an update only.

becareful when storing all of your apps in SD, the apps that have widgets on your homescreens will not work when you mount your sd on to your computer, on when booting up.

Market Enabler have been re-written and renamed to MarketAccess. MarketAccess works better as you can see the paid apps tab. As I understand, the apps will be tied to your gmail acc.
