Wonder if we can upgrade the GC in my XPS 1640? I think its starting to show its age.
Also noticed that the CPU fan will not run till the temp reaches 60C+ so thats why I run i8kfangui31 and set the fan to full speed especially when gaming. The problem with i8kfangui31 is that there is only a few fan setting, off, low or full.
Is there any way to set it so that the fan turns on around 50C without using any other 3rd party apps?

QUOTE(LightningFist @ May 1 2011, 04:48 PM) OMG i8kfangui31 works with SXPS 16? Think it'll work with SXPS 1647 i5-460M? Imma try it now. i8kfangui31 is a miracle worker. Added on May 1, 2011, 5:15 pmGoddammit it didn't work. Well it didn't work for XPS M1330 either, so I'm not surprised. But I am severely disappointed. BurgerRI you run it in DOS mode or something? Can you teach me how to use it for SXPS 1647? I am running my xps 1640 on Win 7 home professional 64bit. The software doesnt seem to like it when i select "force fans to high speed", so I select manual fan control and then in the manual fan control panel i just select the high option. works like a charm...

I didnt get any problems during installation. let me uninstall and try to reinstall it again.
Added on May 1, 2011, 6:49 pmoh sorry, my xps 1640 OS is Win 7 32bit... the G73 is the 64bit machine.
I wasnt able to uninstall it coz it didnt pop up in the programs to uninstall list. Is this a problem limited to 64 bit machines?
