Well today the technician had come and replace the motherboard,
sad thing is, it didn't solve the issue, to make it worse, the esata/usb combo port is not working as well.
Haihh need to make report to dell again, gonna waste my precious time again.

Are you having trouble updating the BIOS?
Hmm kinda strange my BIOS update always runs smoothly.
Did you exit all other applications before updating?

IMHO, BIOS updates usually improve the stability of the system, if you never experience any problem, then
it is most likely that you will not notice anything.

Weird why you have problem when updating W7 sp1, I always use driver sweeper to clean the CCC drivers, and yet the SP1 update goes smoothly.

Actually the hardwares are quite outdated already.
If you are not looking for FHD screen under RM3k, then I think you can get better hardwares by getting other laptop.
I am not trying to keep you away from getting this, I'm just giving my opinion.

Oh if FHD screen is your main priority, then I this is the only option for under RM3k, well there is XPS 15 if you willing to stretch your
budget more.

But from my experience using this, I haven't experience any major issues(overheating, throttling. etc), but I'm just using the old specs,
which is C2D version, paired with HD4670, usually the heating and throttling ssues are likely to happen on i7 systems of SXPS 16.

Maybe other owner could share their respective experience on their SXPS 16 equipped with core i series processor,
so that you could have a better picture of how good or bad this laptop is.

Hmm not really sure about that, yeah I do admit some people experience many problems.
People who got motherboard replacement most probably encounter throttling problem before, this is usually happened for those
who have RGBLED screen and previous i7 processor.

The build quality is quite good actually, but I would recommend for you to get XPS 15 with FHD if you have the
budget, it is newer specs and less problematic if I am not mistaken.
But the RGBLED is the selling point of the SXPS 16.

Exactly where I head after my Dell Studio XPS 16!
Miss my SXPS16, it is a very good laptop though, done everything that I want without fail, not a single problem that I can't solve either.

Miss this forum, have been in AW forum most of the time now, hope you guys satisfied with your SXPS 16, like I did.
