Guys, I turned off the notification to burn a recovery disc. How do I do it now? I've burnt one but I think that is the Repair for Win 7 disc. How do I burn an OS disc?

Why recovery disk? Just get the original software disc from Dell and you can format anytime as u like..

Question: With the AlienWare M15... offering HD 5850 GDDR5, does this mean that the Studio XPS series can have 5850 in it in the future?

Read on some forums that the bottom left of the LCD whitens/yellows (most observable when LCD displays a black/dark picture) due to heat blasting at it from the air vent. Anyone noticed?

Those reviews are scary... 2 XPS and both have problems... I definitely know what it's like, to have a replacement which fails...

Excited to get one after exams... I wish Vostro/Latitude had better GPU, then I'd pick that over XPS 16.

And btw XPS is not really super thin, I think. Design is nice, but its size is standard for 15.6 size notebooks. Looks slim, yes, but so is every other 15.6 inch notebook out there (excluding Alienware, Sager, Clevo of course). Like some Studio series, why can't they fit a side vent? Small side vent is better than extremely small back vent.

I would totally buy a Studio, if only it had a better goddamn video card. Even GT 240M let me down (23W only) as it's super warm in the laptop (thanks also to i7, never lower than 49/50+C idle, and that's on a SUPER cold rainy day, cold is <26C in this place).

XPS M1330 is light, nice design, and the vent does not point at the screen. That's why it's weird that 1647 has the screen over the vent rather than above.

But who could resist backlit keyboard, 1920x1080, HD 5730, i5/i7. i7-620M not available in MY? It is in UK/USA. They are overcharging for i5s.

Hi all, I just got my Asus Xonar and when I connecting it to my XPS16 and 2.1 speaker, I can only get 2.0 sound from my speaker (no sound from woofer). Also sometimes sound output from speaker tends to be distorted. So I want to know:

- how to get 2.1 sound?
- is the sound card faulty? I not sure if its setting that caused the distortion

but when i tried reconnecting to xonar u1 again today, I can get 2.1 sound now. is this due to connection problem?

It seems that Dell no longer provide OS and drivers discs nowadays. I just made payment for my XPS 1645 and I wish to make a clean install for my OS without all those bloatware and wipe clean the recovery partition that came with from the factory once I received my machine. So the question is, can we actually request for these discs and anyone here requested for the discs before? Hope you can help me out here. Cheers.
