1) Based from all headphone users feedbacks/comments, can recommend the very good quality below RM500 par? Whats the difference between open/closed air headphone? Pro, cons pls.
2) Headphone amp (input- 3.5mm jack, digital coaxial in, USB, DAC<-- MUST!) (Output--> 3.5mm jack, etc). Budget around RM800.

I need external sound blocking earphones.
I have Sony earphones (in-ear type) but they don't work against Loud Noise (think construction next door, drilling, knocking).

Is active noise cancellation the way to go? I see these are very very expensive.

Can anybody recommend affordable (not outrageous like RM400 for earphones!) that will effectively block out really really loud noise?

I'm planning to save up to get the Audio Technica A700 or anything within the RM600 region. Can someone give me some reviews or suggestions what I can aim for?

I prefer something with decent kick in bass and listen mostly to J-Pop/Rock, a bit of trance on the side, and R&B occasionally. Not into classics or orchestra but something with good separation would be nice.
