For music Philips and Audio Technica is obvious.
Logitech is more to multi-purpose multimedia.

Audio Technica isnt strong for bass around RM300.
Since primary for music i would suggest Grado SR60.
Grado labs are great for musical sounding.

Else you may consider Beyer Dynamic MMX 1. Which is pretty good deal for is cost too.

Since jazz and classical are out of the equation, I think you should get yourself a Shure SE215. brows.gif

Superlux HD668B
Or the Fischer Audio FA-004.
Or Grado SR60i.

-Superlux: They say it has good clarity and quite good bass. Very cheap. Lower than your budget actually. Was about to buy one but as it will be my first headphone, I opted for the more established headphone(read further).

-Fischer Audio FA-004: Gets good reviews. Some say less realistic treble, boomy bass and so on. Others say good bass with a tad bit of boom, nice sound stage for a closed headphone, comfortable. It is rather smallish though. I was about to buy this as well, but then further inquiries led me to doubt it. Fischer Audio reviews all over the net tend to be a bit biased sometimes, so not willing to take the risk, I didn't buy it.

-Grado SR60i: In the end I bought these. Not very comfortable but after stretching the headband a little, it was more tolerable(for about 2 hours). Sound leaks from and into it, you'd look like a WW2 bomber pilot, needs a higher volume on my source to get decent volume. However, energetic sound signature with good quality bass(decent amount), good clarity, a bit sibilant, might not be the best for female vocals but quite decent for casual listening. The most expensive of the three.

seems like none of em is really ideal..

Looking for recomendation of 3 earphone

1) Normal fotopia type earphone
- Prefer Sennheiser
- Budget below RM400
- Good clarity and extra bass

2) Noise Canceling Earphone, compact type
- budget below rm500
- Good sound quality n bass also
- filter up the noise at least 80%

note: I'm used to be SONY NC22 user before, the noise canceling was quite amazon, but unfortunately the clarity and bass is very below expectation, compare to my sub RM100+ earphone this NC22 really disappoint me.

Now SONY had come out NC33 with 90% canceling instead of 75% from NC22, i wonder how's the sound quality?

other than SONY NC33, what are your other recomendation?

Guys besides an amp, i'm also looking for a music player to use for my Shure SRH440.
Definetely needs FLAC support as my current iPod nano doesn't support FLAC. and it's only 8gb so even if i convert to ALAC i can't put a lot of songs.

Can someone help me decide which of these are the best?
