Diff people diff priority. My priority is to get ref level without distortion. My recommendation as below:

1. Subwoofer - Submersive if you can get Mark to quote you the shipping. I give up on the slow communication and go for eD DIY A7s-650 kit - around RM 7k (including shipping and tax). Other choice is SVS PB-13 Subwoofer (get quote from HTKaki)

2. Amp - XPA-5 around RM 4.1k. HTKaki is selling his at RM 3.2k.

3. Receiver - Onkyo TX-876. Not sure what's the price now should be around RM 4k.

4. Speaker - JTR Triple 8 (3 units) + Slanted 8 (2 units). Around RM 18k including shipping & tax.

5. Wire - Cheaper choice is to buy Belden  speaker cable. You can go for 12AWG speaker wire. Length depends on your room size. IC you can go for BJC-1 from Blue Jeans Cable. If you want branded wire, you can try to bid for Zu Cables from EBay for half the price selling here.

Or opt for Sonus Faber Concerto Domus (2 pairs) and a SF Ctr for loudspeakers.

Then, whack a midrange avr and a power amp since SF needs power to 'sing'. Reward wld be very good.

Sub - SVS PB13-Ultra or PC13-Ultra.

oonbc, where's your location?

IMHO (and from a noob), 30k to spend on audio to be placed in the living room with no acoustic treatment (assumed) is just a waste.

maybe is a waste for u... blush.gif

upgrading of cables, wires, acoustic treatment or whatever will be consider later... step by step.. enjoy the process and i think we could appreciate more when we experience improvement from the original setup...

Hi..

30k seems a lot when u spend it at one go.. most of will do it one step at a time.. at least tats de way for me ..

All d gear recommended is gud but I dont tink u ll be abl to gauge it thru our views.. at least for spkrs, u ll nid to try out for ur self.. I ll thrw in a few names too - dynaudio / focal[jmlab] r decent spkrs..
Avrs.. I d go for a mid rnge model [wif most/all d bells n whistles] n pair it wif a decent pwr amp..
Sub - I d get a decent local supplied model - SvS cums to mind..

Time for me to join in the fun.......

Canton Karat Floorstand + Center + Rear, Denon 4310, Used XPA-5, SVS PB13-Ultra and Monster Cable shocking.gif
Think the Kaki and the Tiger will be happy with this combination... Maybe can chip in some XLO or Cardas stuff....
