hey guys i'm new to this so i'll make it brief =) was thinking about getting a CM Scout can my 5770 fit inside it?? and could i use 80mm fans instead of the 120mm ones?
btw...in comparison, how does the Thermal V5 or the NZXT Classic Gamma fair against Scout?

Hey Scout users!! I just wanna ask...cos i'll be getting my own Scout soon. The LED on/off button, does it turn off ALL LEDs on ALL FANS? How does it work exactly? Cos I was thinking about mounting my 2 extra CM LED fans, the green 2k rpm ones on my Thor's Hammer...would the LED button turn those fan's LED off too? or does the button turn off the fans?? some1 pls explain this to me hahaa... my imagination was that it turns off ALL LEDs attached to fans within the casing not just the two fans supplied. Meaning 2 say that i would have 6 LED fans but all of which can be turned off when i want to sleep so my room doesn't glow Green & Red LOL

NNNnooooooooo =(( my cpu's gonna light up like a freaking christmas tree ==" hmm....
ok how about this....if i leave my pc idle at night...or say leave it for house keeping at night while i sleep - virus scan, defrag, scans...would it be ok if i turned off 2 side panel fans & reduce processor fans to say...800-1k rpm via fan control...would my pc over heat? the other 3 fans will b working (top rear n front)
BTW...can i fit Thor's Hammer + 2 fans into this casing? =))

PWM?? whats that?? lol...owh...so even if i use a fan controller i cant control the R4 fans?? But i thought fan controllers control the voltage input into the fans...so technically lower voltage = lower rpm right? so lower rpm = dimmer LEDs?? LOL

QUOTE(speedhunter @ Jul 29 2010, 08:48 AM) nice case sometimes wanna try that sniper, but who want my case? rite, cm r4 cannot turn the led off by itself, unless u hv some sort of fan controller to turn off the fan that will also turn off the led, i done it on my scout with my fan controller. u could mod the fan but i dont think u would be interested. i use prolimatech+2 fans, when sleeping, only turn on the rear fan, other fan (i have 6 r4 in my case) is off, the temp is increase a bit but not like while gaming, super silent during sleeping is worth here if u have 3 pin fan pin on your mobo, u could control it using speed fan but make sure your bios can recognise it. my mobo only recognise 2 fan out of 4, so can only control 2 urmmm what are some affordable fan controllers for R4, supports up to 4 fans with RPM / temp reader? =))

QUOTE(speedhunter @ Jul 30 2010, 08:35 AM) believe me, i've tried many fans combination, u gain more noise rather than lower temp either as exhaust or intake(this got humming sound) as the result, i change the side panel to reduce dust since i dont use the side panel for fans y dont u try xigmatek dark knight? its a good cooler for its price. for dark knight i might as well add in a lil more and get thor's hammer =)) i've checked out thor's hammer against dark knight and TH performs better so far ^^ as for the fans..well since i got them might as well use them hahaa.....i'm getting a fan controller anyway so can reduce the sounds
