This is my first post and I've read all other post on the topic but since the xbox 360 slim is still new, I need some opinion.

I'm considering on buying either PS3 slim or xbox slim. I have a ps2 before this LOL and so I have probably bias toward PS3.
Based on your experience, which one do you prefer in term of performance, game (online vs offline), and community in Malaysia.

And since I'm buying this console in the US, do you think it would have any effect on the game because of the region preference? Or should I just buy it in Malaysia instead, but I dont think we have the Xbox slim yet. And if possible, what is the price range of both console in Malaysia.

ps3 have no region lock for GAMES.u can play games whatever region on ur ps3.
xbox360, yes they do have region lock.since u're buying in the us, then it's ntsc/uc.so u need to get ntsc/uc games and region free games only.suggestion, buy there..when u wanna come back to m'sia, sell it and buy another one here.

I guess if I'm going for xbox 360, probably a good idea to buy in Malaysia. Thanks for the info.

Anyway, I HAVE SEARCHED and go through the forums about it, just wondering about the Xbox 360 slim just in case anybody have had their hands on it.

i tell u what i know.

i don't have 360, but is a fact that online experience is a bit superior on 360. but ps3 is ok enough.

there are more online malaysian ps3 gamers than 360. so if u the type who don't like to play with strangers ps3 it is. it sucks if u finally met a friend to play with and find out he is on another system. really sucks

the price range is about the same. ps3 is about 12XX, 360 slim will be about 11XX

The only downside for X360 slim is the region lock. I have been frustrated before trying to find Eng version of games, and found that cannot play on my X360 becos of region lock. Example: Samurai Warriors, Import Tuner (Shoutoku Battle X)

I smell duplicate account...refer from ur statement, ur answer should be PS3... senang cakap, but i never mean PS3 are better than Xbox360, so both are good. Another thing have to correct it, i think here no one have own Slim Xbox360 yet, no one can give u the right answer, o yeah, this is funny, right??

all i see is the same picture being posted all over the place again and again.
and the youtube seems fake, the system didn't hangs after a minute plus with such artifact.
if the new system really easy to have hardware failure, youtube should already be filled with many video of 360 Slim with hardware failure.

btw, since the 360 Slim will detect if it get too hot and shut down, means there is temp reader built-in, thus for a hardware failure because of overheating is almost impossible.

Thanks all for the info. Yeah the game lock and the heat issue thing really kinda get in a way somehow. Well, anyway thanks guys for the input. I just need an opinion, not a decision b/c who else best to ask about using console in malaysia if not malaysian? /s
