Hi guys, my 2 cars seems to be in customs, how much do you think i need to pay for taxes for the 2 cars? both items are less than RM500 but held in customs, this is the first time it's getting held up there....any idea how much needed to pay for taxes?

I got a letter asking me to come and collect it from kastams office. Also they requested me to provide the invoices and all necessary forms and letters before coming. Anyway going to collect me cars on eve of Raya. Hopefully no need to pay tax wil keep u guys updated

Ya man this is below RM 500 so I think should be no problem. I guess they hold it up at customs because the box got compony logo, that's my opinion because I bought from them before, but the previous shipment never got held up at customs maybe because the amount is lower. Anyway thanks for the tips.

Just went to the customs yesterday morning to clear my 2 cars, customs officer mentioned I paid over RM500 when my items cleary states it is below Rm500 after USD conversion, i honestly don't understand how they come to the conclusion to that but anyway first time going to customs and paid RM90 for tax for the 2 items, still considerably cheap shipping it in but hate the experience going to customs and talking to officer. I've got another 2 items hope it doesnt get held up in customs office again, but just wondering what really makes the items get held up in customs??

Added on September 10, 2010, 12:55 pmedwardc: nice mclaren, one question how does the new Mclaren from UT solve the hinges on the door, comparing to the old mclarens from UT, it is common for the door hinges to break and it doesn't stay in the up position as well.
