Just went to the customs yesterday morning to clear my 2 cars, customs officer mentioned I paid over RM500 when my items cleary states it is below Rm500 after USD conversion, i honestly don't understand how they come to the conclusion to that but anyway first time going to customs and paid RM90 for tax for the 2 items, still considerably cheap shipping it in but hate the experience going to customs and talking to officer. I've got another 2 items hope it doesnt get held up in customs office again, but just wondering what really makes the items get held up in customs??
Added on September 10, 2010, 12:55 pmedwardc: nice mclaren, one question how does the new Mclaren from UT solve the hinges on the door, comparing to the old mclarens from UT, it is common for the door hinges to break and it doesn't stay in the up position as well.
Hi bro, my friend shipped his piston back here not long ago and bloody hell the custom charge him 40% tax which is RM2xxx for tax alone. So he ask the courier to send it over to Singapore and he hand carry back here. He rather pay for the trip than tax!
Thanks for the compliment. Errr. I'm not sure bout the door hinge of UT but I do heard few complaint that the AA McLaren door hinge is fragile. That's why I was really careful opening it. I noticed there was quite some freeplay when the door closed, I guess that's their solution to it? haha. If it's tight then very likely to break it when opening isn't it?
On my AA, the door stay up well. Fully opened and stayed there no problem.
Hope I answered your question. :-)

Wah nice la. Looking at the details, doesn't look like 1/43 at all!!! As detail/realistic as a 1/18 isn't it.
